Recently Released WWE Talent Makes Surprise In-Ring Return at Indy Event; Shoots on WWE Before the Show

Recently released WWE talent Matt Striker made a surprise appearance at this Friday's FWE Welcome to the Rumble iPPV, just two days after it was announced that his WWE contract had expired.

Striker was introduced before the show began, and joined the commentary team for the entire night. Several reports coming in said that Striker thanked WWE for the chance and opportunity, but also took some shots at the company, saying that he could now properly call the names of moves, reference Japan-based wrestling, and bring up the history and background of the performers without getting in trouble.

That wasn't all for Striker, however, as the New York native returned to in-ring action in front of a hometown crowd, participated in the main event Rumble match. It appears that only active WWE Superstars are bound to the company's usual 90-day "no compete" clause.
