Mick Foley Talks About The Faces Of Foley & Indy ‘Tribute’ Acts w/ Chad Gilbert of New Found Glory

Mick FoleyWWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley was recently the subject of an interview for Kerrang! Magazine, with New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert as the guest interviewer. Foley answered several questions for Gilbert, and you can read a few excerpts below:

Chad: Out of all the faces of Foley [Mankind, Dude Love and Cactus Jack], if there was a fight between the three, who do you think would win?

Mick: "Probably The Dude. He'd run away, let the other two pretty much kill each other, then swoop in for the easy victory. It would be mind over matter!"

Chad: How do you feel about new acts taking inspiration from Mick Foley? Do you look on them as a rip-off or a tribute? I sometimes see bands and think, 'Man, that band just totally bit my wrist…'

Mick: "I don't really like the Mick Foley rip-odds on the independent scene, because they're just taking fans' money. That's not a tribute. But I love the idea of guys following what I've done. I had a top WWE superstar ask me about incorporating one of my offensive moves – one of the five! – into his repertoire and I said, 'Man, I'd love it!'. Stuff like that is flattering."

Foley is continuing a press tour in support of his UK spoken word/comedy shows. He has four more shows scheduled in the area, with three in London and one in Southend-on-sea this weekend. You can read the rest of the interview here.
