TNA Turning Point 2012 Pay-Per-Preview

The abrupt arrival of tonight’s TNA pay-per-view caught me off guard. It’s not as if Turning Point comes any sooner than a normally scheduled wrestling event, but it seems the bright lights of Bound for Glory are just barely fading from our rear view mirrors. I don’t think I was quite ready for the “new season” of TNA and Impact Wrestling to be starting anew quite so soon.
But the wrestling world does not sleep, and there is no “off season” in the realm of sports entertainment. The question is: has the TNA product continued to grow outward from Bound for Glory? They certainly grabbed hold the attention of many a wrestling fan in 2012, but I do worry that the momentum from the the exceptional BFG Series and the original hype of the Aces & Eights storyline has faded. Tonight at Turning Point, TNA has an opportunity. They can play it safe, put on a decent wrestling pay-per-view with a decent “wrestling card”, or they can kick the creative door wide open and re-capture the imagination of those fans teetering on the fringe.
In this Pay-Per-Preview we’re going to run down the Turning Point match card, compare and contrast it from my 2011 preview of the same event, and take a look at the nearly 1,500 responses we had to our Wrestlezone predictions survey (you can still vote, I may update the totals in my Review editorial on Monday). Let’s go!
