According to PWTorch.com, Vince McMahon announced the format for the WWE Network will be a 'premium subscription model', which is similar to HBO's format. When asked if the network would have an impact on current WWE programming, McMahon said the network "will be an add-on when you look at the entire production."
In addition, McMahon also said WWE's contract with SyFy would be running out soon, which may contribute to what shows appear on the network. Friday Night Smackdown currently airs on SyFy, and they need to decide how much of their programming will appear on their own network or other networks. McMahon says they "have to look at this in terms of totality to promote Network, PPV, and everything else we do."
