Last week on Raw Supershow, the WWE allowed the fans to vote for which Championship would be defended on tonight's 1,000th episode of Monday Night Raw, with the Intercontinental Championship being picked to be on the line.
With Bret "the Hitman" Hart as the special guest ring announcer, the Miz defeated Christian to become the new Intercontinental Champion. This win, along with his former Tag Team and WWE Championship reigns, make the Miz only the 25th WWE Triple Crown Champion in company history.
Note: The WWE does not officially recognize the United States Championship, a former WCW title, as a pre-requisite for the Triple Crown club.
