Impact Wrestling Results (6/28) – Aries Announces X Division Tournament, Tag Team Title Defense In Main Event

Roode says his title is important because he defended it all over the world, and he is the most dominant champion in Impact history. He says Hulk Hogan is the only reason Aries has a title shot, then Aries tries to respond but Roode yells at him to shut up. Roode says his option 'C' is going to fail so he should get out of his ring, but Aries asks what happens if it's his ring. Aries asks what he is going to do and tells him to bring it, but Roode takes his title and talks trash as he heads up the ramp. 

Dixie Carter is with Claire and they talk about how they met, then Claire says Christopher Daniels and Kazarian took private information and twisted it. She says they never met, and AJ and Dixie only tried to help her but Daniels and Kaz ruined things for them. Daniels and Kaz are shown in their locker room, and Kaz says he is done listening to Daniels because he cost him his friendship with AJ. Daniels tells him to calm down because they have a title match tonight, but Kaz says he is done listening and it all stops tonight.

Sonjay Dutt vs Rubix

Dutt applies a headlock and follows with a shoulder block, then Rubix hits a springboard armdrag and a dropkick for a two count. Rubix pulls him up and gets punched in the head, then Dutt hits an armdrag and a running hurricanrana. Rubix catches Dutt offguard with a seated dropkick, then he hits a suicide dive before heading up top. Dutt dropkicks him on the way down, then he avoids a corner dive and kicks him in the head. Dutt hits a springboard splash for two, then Rubix comes back with a few kicks and a German suplex for a near fall. Rubix calls for another suplex, but Dutt counters and hits a spinning DDT and a double footstomp moonsault for the win.
