The main event of TNA’s Slammiversary PPV will be Bobby Roode (c) vs. Sting for the TNA Title.
TNA X Division Champion Austin Aries vs Samoa Joe was announced after the live broadcast of Impact Wrestling last night as well. This match is a non-title X-Division match (because of the weight limit rule), but the match was briefly teased on camera. Aries was preparing to make his entrance and sprayed himself down backstage, and Samoa Joe walked by and didn’t appreciate being sprayed.
None of this was mentioned on camera during the broadcast, but Samoa Joe posted a Tweet last night saying he was being escorted from the building. It seemed cryptic at the time, but after the announcement of the match it looks to be a work to further the storyline.
A tag team match between Robbie E and Robbie T vs Devon and Garret Bischoff was also announced, and Bully Ray accepted Joseph Park’s challenge to a fight at the pay-per-view.
It had been previously announced that Kazarian and Daniels vs Kurt Angle and AJ Styles for the TNA Tag Championships will also take place at the event.
