WWE Over The Limit Results (5/20) – New IC Champion, Punk vs Bryan, Does John Laurinaitis Survive?

Cody stomps him a few times before punching him in the corner, then Christian shoves him and tries to go up top but Cody slams his head off the turnbuckles. Cody brings him back in and hits a superplex, then they get back up and trade punches before Christian sends him to the floor and connects with a suicide dive. Cody gets a near fall when they get back in, then he goes to the middle rope and jumps off but Christian punches him in the stomach. Christian gets a near fall and sets up for a Killswitch, but Cody counters so Christian drop toe holds him onto the middle rope and punches him in the face. Cody catches Christian off guard and gets a near fall, then he counters a tornado DDT and hits a moonsault for two then argues about the count. He screams to the fans about being better than them, then he tries to throw Christian in the corner, but Christian counters with surprise Killswitch for the win.

Winner and NEW Intercontinental Champion – Christian

CM Punk joins Josh Mathews in the back, and Punk says he is OK after being attacked by Kane, but he will feel better when John Laurinaitis gets fired. He says he has to deal with Daniel Bryan first, and they have known each other a long time, then he makes fun of Johnny’s voice and says he never would have hired them. Punk says he and Bryan have wrestled each other before and being at the top of the card should be great, but Bryan got on his bad side. He says they will have a great match, then AJ walks over and tells him she is looking forward to watching the match. Punk shakes his head and walks away with Mathews, but AJ just stands there and smiles as we head out to the ring.

Daniel Bryan vs CM Punk (c)

Punk locks up with Bryan near the ropes but breaks at the ref’s call, then Bryan applies a headlock but Punk throws him into the ropes and hiptosses him. Bryan surprises him with an uppercut then Punk ties him up and kicks him in the corner, then he puts Bryan in a headlock and kicks his legs. Bryan comes back with some more uppercuts, then he kicks him in the corner and whips him across the ring but Punk cuts him off and attempts a GTS. Bryan blocks it but Punk goes back to work on his legs, and he puts him in a leglock but Bryan rolls over and repeatedly elbows him in the face. (Cont’d…)
