Major UFC Title Rematch At UFC 148 Cancelled Due To Injury

The UFC bantamweight title fight scheduled for UFC 148 on July 7 between current Ultimate Fighter coaches Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber has been postponed.

Current champion Cruz suffered an injury during training for the bout, and as confirmed by UFC president Dana White on Twitter, the Cruz-Faber III fight is off, for the time being.

The UFC 148 card is still very strong despite the cancellation, as the event features the highly anticipated UFC middleweight title rematch between Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen, as well as Tito Ortiz’s final UFC fight ever, which will also be the conclusion to what will be the trilogy fight in a series of three with Ultimate Fighter season one champion and former UFC light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin. The card also features Rich Franklin vs. Cung Le, Damian Maia vs. Dong Hyun Kim, Riki Fukuda vs. Costa Philippou and Gleison Tibau vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov.
