Sting vs Kurt Angle (c) (w/ Hulk Hogan as the Special Guest Enforcer)
The two men square off with Sting applying a side headlock and Angle backs him off and gets taken down with a shoulder block. Sting hits a hip toss and an armdrag, then slides under the bottom rope and regroups with Hogan and gets back in. Angle kicks Sting in the stomach then punches him and throws him off the ropes, but Sting knocks him back outside and follows him out and slams his head into the steps. Hogan tells them to get back inside and they do, and Sting goes for a Stinger Splash but Angle holds onto him and hits a belly to belly suplex, then applies a side headlock and follows it up with a sleeper hold.
Sting throws himself backwards to get Angle to break it, then he throws some elbows and runs at Angle, kicks him and DDT's him for a two count. Angle runs back at him and hits three consecutive German suplexes, then goes for an Angle Slam but Sting floats over his shoulder and drops him with a Scorpion Death Drop. Angle is able to kick out so Sting tries a Death Lock, but Angle blocks it and attempts to put him in the Ankle Lock. Sting fights it off and throws Angle in the corner but Kurt ducks him and drops him with an Angle Slam for a near pinfall. Sting rushes out of the corner and nails him with clothesline, then applies the Scorpion Death Lock as Hogan waves to the back and calls for Immortal to come out and help.
Gunner is first out with a chair but the ref takes it from him and Sting keeps the hold on Angle and gets him to tap out but the ref doesn't see it. Hogan hits him in the chest with a chair but he shakes it off and corners a scared Hogan. Angle sneaks up behind him and lays him out with an Angle Slam on the chair and makes the cover to retain his title. Hogan and Angle celebrate, but Sting sneaks up behind them and knocks Angle out of the ring. He stalks Hogan in the ring and laughs as Hogan backs in to the corner and begs to reconsider, then Bully Ray and the rest of Immortal hit the ring to beat up Sting. It doesn't take long for Mr. Anderson to run out and help and he clears the ring of everyone while holding a baseball bat. He checks on Sting and dares them all to come back as Immortal retreats up the ramp.
