Number One Contender's Match
CM Punk vs John Cena
Punk hip tosses Cena and they trade headlocks and hip tosses then stand off and lock back up, and Punk gets thrown off the ropes but hits a shoulder block. Cena hits two shoulder blocks of his own then goes for the Five Knuckle Shuffle but Punk was playing possum and almost rolls Cena up for a pin. He hits Cena in the corner with a high knee and follows with a bulldog, then Punk rolls outside and stares at Alberto, who is sitting at the announcer's table. Punk turns back around on the apron and gets knocked to the floor by Cena as we go another commercial break.
When we return, both guys are down on the mat, and Punk goes for a GTS when they get up. Cena tries countering into an AA but Punk kicks him in the head and hits a flying clothesline off the turnbuckle for a two count. Punk picks him up and goes for another GTS but Cena counters into a STF, but can't lock it in and turns it into a Crossface. Punk fights to get out of it, and is able to get his foot on the ropes, and the ref calls for a break then Cena runs at Punk in the corner. Punk moves and Cena runs shoulder first into the turnbuckle, and Punk hits a GTS but only gets a two count.
Punk goes up top and attempts a top rope elbow drop, but he takes to long and Cena rolls out of the way, and goes up to the top rope himself. Cena leaps off and hits a legdrop for two, and both guys are slow to get back up, but when they do Cena tries another AA. Punk furiously elbows him way out of it and hits a hard running knee, but Cena still kicks out at two. Punk gets up and gets dropped with an AA, but he too is able to kick out of the finisher and Cena drives his back into the corner and tries to set up a superplex.
They fight on the top but Punk punches him off and hits a crossbody, but Cena rolls through and lifts him for an AA, and Punk drops down and almost gets another rollup. Punk drops him with a kick to the side of the head, and he calls for a GTS, but Kevin Nash comes to the stage and tells him that their issues are not over yet. Punk dares him to get in the ring but he stays where he is as Cena picks Punk up and hits a final Attitude Adjustment for the win.
Winner – John Cena
Alberto attacks Cena right after the bell and he unloads on Cena until referees and John Laurinitis stop him and force him back. Alberto appears to calm down but rushes at Cena again and hits him with his championship belt and kicks him to the floor. He throws Cena into the barricade and Alberto is seething as he is backed off and he stares at Cena on the ground as RAW ends.
