Miz Speaks: Concussion at WMania, WWE Popularity, More

The MizIn a new interview conducted for The Edmonton Journal, WWE star The Miz spoke on a number of WWE related topics. The following are some excerpts, and you can read the entire interview by clicking on the above link:

Wrestling can be dangerous. Have you ever been hurt?

I broke my ankle when I first started before I was even in the WWE. Alex Riley broke my nose about a month ago which I wasn’t too happy about because I’m a really good-looking guy. I got a concussion in WrestleMania 27.

Do you remember any of that WrestleMania match?

Now, watching back, I can remember it in little bits and pieces. It’s one of those things like, I was in the main event of WrestleMania and I really don’t remember too much of it. I remember being in it, but I don’t remember everything. It was one of those scary moments, but now I’m back to 100 per cent.

Are you better than John Cena, CM Punk and current WWE champion Alberto Del Rio? Should you have the title right now?

Yes, I believe I should be the WWE champion. Do I think I’m better than CM Punk, John Cena and Alberto Del Rio? Absolutely.

What makes wrestling so popular?

You have these larger-than-life characters with these soap opera-like storylines. You have drama, you have comedy. If you watched Summerslam you had incredible matches. It’s a little bit of everything. We had a concert with Cee-lo Green. We had WWE Superstars doing what they do best, which is entertaining people. We had amazing promos, amazing pre-tapes and then we had these incredible matches with athleticism seen nowhere else but the WWE.
