Veach Pleads Guilty
Memphis, TN — The former stripper in the police corruption scandal is changing her tune, now she’s pleading guilty. April Veach is charged with helping to draft a conspiracy to steal $200,000 from pro-wrestler Jerry Lawler. David Tate, John Vaughan and Billy Scott are also charged in the corruption case.
In a surprising turn of events, Veach decided to plead guilty Thursday afternoon. The judge gave her an opportunity to say why she was having this sudden change of heart, but all she would say is that she’s guilty.
April Veach’s attorney told reporters his client is expecting a child in August with co-defendant David Tate. Veach hopes her pregnancy will play favorably for her when the judge decides her sentence. A sentencing date has been set for May 20, 2005.
