» In what is a huge move for us here in IPW:UK, it can now be confirmed that we shall be running the first ever IPW:UK “double header” on the weekend of July 16th/17th 2005.
The “Weekend of Champions: Night 1” will be on Saturday July 16th, with Sunday July 17th as “Night 2”. Both events will be held in the regular IPW:UK venue, the Orpington Halls, in Orpington, Kent (directions available on the IPW:UK website). Ticket prices and other information about how to be there live and in person will be announced in the coming 7 days.
With Night 1 featuring the first ever IPW:UK Title match (‘New Superstar’ Stevie Douglas vs. ‘The Enforcer’ Martin Stone), we can also now announce that…
» …July will also bring the first ever IPW:UK tag team champions. A two night, eight team tournament will crown the first pairing to hold the IPW:UK Tag Titles. With a blend of talent from IPW:UK’s current roster, and tag teams from all around the UK and across Europe, this is set to be the premier setting of tag team action in not only IPW:UK history, but possibly in the UK in 2005!
All 8 teams will be announced over the coming weeks, with the tournament working on a standard knockout format. Each advancing team from the opening round (4 teams) will then have a semi-final contest, with the two semi-final winners facing off in the final to see what two men will become the inaugural IPW:UK Tag Team champions.

— Our reliable friends over at TheSuplex.com will be running a bus trip from the Midlands to the “Weekend of Champions”. For more information on where the trip will be stopping into, and to reserve your seat early, drop an email to the organizers on [email protected].
— ‘New Superstar’ Stevie Douglas has confirmed himself for both dates on the IPW:UK “Weekend of Champions”. Along with his valet Shadow, Douglas has confirmed that even if “by some miracle” he doesn’t manage to become the first IPW:UK Champion, he will stick around for the second day.
— IPW:UK “Return of the Dragon” from March, and IPW:UK “Best of British 2: Heavyweights” from this past Sunday May 22nd will both be available for online pre-sale tomorrow (Friday) morning.
