» After concerns appeared as to what people could do in-between night 1 and night 2 of the “Weekend of Champions”, IPW have today announced that a UK fan convention will be hosted at the Orpington Halls.
In an exciting move, fans can expect merchandise, matches in the ring as you mill around and talk to other British wrestling fans, food & drink (including – weather permitting – the first ever ORPINGTON BBQ!) and a viewing area where fan match choices will be played in both VHS and DVD format! Plus, a special quiz with amazing prizes will also take place!
For any wrestlers looking for the experience to be involved in one of the convention match-ups, if you are looking for rates to sell your product or idea at the convention, or you just want to help out in general, send off a quick email to daniel@ipwuk.com and include your name and a daytime phone number that you can be reached on.
» When people think British Wrestling, very few names come up time and time again, but Jonny Storm certainly is one of those names. And after 4 months away, Storm is back for not one, but both nights of July’s “Weekend of Champions” spectacular.
With a current record of 2 wins, 2 losses and no draws in IPW:UK competition, ‘The Wonderkid’ will be looking to improve on this record – be it in singles competition, or as part of the Tag Team Tournament.
» At the end of our May show, “Best of British 2: Heavyweights”, Aviv Maayan vowed to once again become the #1 Contender to the IPW:UK title. Having lost that claim to ‘New Superstar’ Stevie Douglas earlier in the evening in a Ladder match, Maayan requested another match with NEW #1 contendership on the line.
Naturally, when Douglas and Stone face off to decide the first ever IPW:UK Champion, there will need to be a #1 contender to face said Champion on Night 2. As such, IPW:UK management have agreed to open up a “Battle Rumble” with over the top rope elimination rules. The first two entrants are confirmed to be Aviv Maayan and everybody’s favourite American, Jake!
In Other News:
— Our reliable friends over at TheSuplex.com will be running a bus trip from the Midlands to the “Weekend of Champions”. For more information on where the trip will be stopping into, and to reserve your seat early, drop an email to the organizers on TheSuplex1@gmail.com.
— Later this week we will be announcing a huge International name that has been signed to work the “Weekend of Champions”. This second generation star will be making their UK debut for IPW:UK, and is not somebody to miss!
