PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE DISTRIBUTION
» One year ago this September 25th, IPW:UK was born. One year later, IPW:UK will emerge. With huge matches being lined up for this show including a TABLES, LADDERS & CHAIRS match for the IPW:UK Tag Titles, as well as special events during the evening to mark the one-year anniversary of the promotion, this is a show you do NOT want to be missing!
Tickets, just £20 ringside, £12 general admission (£6 for children) or £30 for a family (2 adults, 2 children aged 14 or under) and are on sale right now. To order, head over to www.ipwuk.com, or email [email protected] for more information. Box office number is 07780 677007.
» In an amazing twist, IPW:UK officials have shocked everybody and offered Jody Fleisch the IPW:UK title shot against Martin Stone for September 25th’s One-Year Anniversary show. Given Jonny Storm is un-available for the show, signed to fight in America on that weekend, and with Storm as the top-ranked British contender not already signed to a match, IPW officials offered the shot to Storm’s losing tag team-mate from the Weekend of Champions – Jody Fleisch!
After the initial shock set in, Fleisch gladly accepted such an offer and it’s now on – Stone vs. Fleisch for the first time ever, for the IPW:UK title, September 25th 2005!
» That’s right, this coming Friday (September 2nd), the IPW:UK Weekend of Champions Night 1 DVD will commence shipping. To make sure you get one of the first batch, a DVD printed for your specific order, head over to the official IPW website (www.ipwuk.com) right now. Some of the great matches include;
– The IPW:UK debut of Jody Fleisch, teaming with best friend Jonny Storm;
– The UK debut of Harry ‘Bulldog’ Smith, the legendary British Bulldog’s son, as he teams with Andy Boy Simmonz as ‘British Beef’, taking on the technical masters, James Tighe & Justin Richards.
– The first round in the IPW:UK Tag Title tournament, featuring other teams such as the debuting (undefeated wXw Tag champions) High Class Catch Club, The Chav Army, AK47 and many more!
Plus high flying action between Spud and Dragon Phoenix, a #1 contender Battle Royal featuring American Indy star Chasyn Rance, and much much more!
» Former IPW:UK champion Aviv Maayan has this week demanded IPW officials give him some singles action at the One Year Anniversary show. After narrowly defeating Darren Burridge at Extreme Measures, Maayan then suffered a defeat to his win/loss record, without being pinned, during the second round four-way. While concentrating on Jack Storm on the outside, Spud picked up a quick shock pinfall over Flaming Red on the inside.
This loss, while coupled with a win, actually moved Maayan down in the IPW:UK title rankings after comparison’s were drawn with Jonny Storm. Storm made it through to the final of last year’s Extreme Measures tournament, only being defeated by current #1 contender (and the still undefeated), Super Dragon.
Upon hearing of the Contenders Match signed between Andy Boy Simmonz and James Tighe, Maayan was straight in contact with IPW to ensure he too is given the shot to move up in the rankings. This request has been granted; Maayan’s opponent, however, is currently completely up in air!
In Other News:
— Congratulations go out to Dave Moralez & manager ‘Charming’ Don Charles, who both head out to represent IPW in Germany for wXw on September third. All three members of the Team Charming faction (Moralez, Jack Storm & Martin Stone) overly impressed officials from the German federation, during their recent trip to the UK to view the Weekend of Champions, and as such Moralez has been signed to face CZW star Emil Sitoci.
— Moralez, along with ‘Sadistic’ Jack Storm, are confirmed to appear on September 25th.
