Albeit on good terms with WWE, Chris Jericho is not viewed as a Steve Austin/Hogan-esque “on-call” performer. For the time being, he is behaving as a “former wrestler.”
If and when he does return, it will be for WWE. But, there is absolutely no sense of urgency attached to his possible comeback.
“Chris wasn’t worried about burning a bridge; it’s not burning a bridge if you’re not worried about being able to walk back over it,” one source said.
The biggest question right now is not whether Jericho will ever work a WWE match again but whether, having tasted life away from the business, he’ll ever return full-time.
