Although many would assume Vince McMahon was behind bringing Donald Trump in for WrestleMania, the idea actually came from Bonnie Hammer, president of the USA Network. WWE RAW and Trump’s show “The Apprentice” are both under the NBC-Universal corporate umbrella so the cross promotion was a natural fit.
– There will be over 70,000 fans in attendance this Sunday
– At first, Trump was hesitant to participate in WrestleMania. However, Vince McMahon made Trump an offer he couldn’t refuse – a huge charitable donation on both their behalfs.
– The article said Donald Trump and Vince McMahon will be donanting their WrestleMania paychecks to charity – which together will total over $5 Million.
– Vince McMahon had the best quote of the article. The writer explained how both McMAhon and Trump claim to have popularized the phrase, “YOU’RE FIRED!”. McMahon says he’s been using it since before “The Apprentice” was on television and Trump responded by saying he doesn’t watch wrestling and his idea for the phrase was in fact original.
