TNA Suspension, NWA/TNA Title Update, Backstage News

WrestleZone.com is reporting that Vince Russo sat ringside on the opposite side of the announcers during the Lockdown PPV. When the “Fire Russo” chants started up during the Chris Harris vs. James Storm and Electric Steel Cage matches, Russo was spotted folding his arms to show he wasn’t affected by the chants. He was also spotted leaving his chair and pacing the floor during the matches as well when the chants started up.

WrestleZone.com is also reporting that Antonio Inoki has stated that his son-in-law Simon Inoki has been in talks with WWE and TNA to bring in talent for the new start up Inoki Genome Federation promotion.

WrestleZone.com posted earlier this week that one of the reasons Austin Starr was suspended by TNA for 90 days was the fact he wore a ROH t-shirt during the Lockdown Fanfest, among other things. Starr also refused to cut promos on his days off which also didn’t sit well with TNA management.

To update you on TNA dropping the NWA Titles, the latest word is that the NWA Titles and the NWA name will no longer be a part of TNA as of 5/14, which is the day after TNA’s Sacrifice PPV. That would mean at the TNA TV taping that Monday, 5/14 or Tuesday 5/15, TNA would start some sort of angle to establish new titles.
