The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Austin Starrâs most recent TNA suspension was a result of âattitudeâ he expressed towards filming vignettes for TNA television.
Starr reportedly made reservations for April 16â“the day between the last TNA PPV and the iMPACT tapingsâ“to celebrate his birthday, which was that weekend. TNA, however, asked Starr to come into the studio to film some vignettes.
The wrestler, who believed April 16 to be a day-off, asked if he could instead just film the vignettes the next day, since he was already scheduled to work the tapings in Orlando. TNA argued that the writing team came up with those vignettes on âtheir day off.â Additionally, Bob Backlund, who was scheduled to appear in the vignettes, had agreed to come in that day as well.
Starr eventually agreed to film the segments, but by that time, TNA was already frustrated with his attitude. The company decided to initiate the suspension.
WrestleZone.com. is reporting that he had previously been suspended for working an ROH show in a stormy northeast despite a request from TNA that he immediately fly down to Orlando (for an event scheduled for later that weekend).
Starr will make a statement tomorrow (Monday) regarding his wrestling future. We’ll be sure to post that on WrestleZone.com.
