WWE Judgment Day Opener:
The PPV opened with a video package focusing on the three major title (WWE, World, ECW) matches tonight, with a big hunk of time spent on the Great Khali. The three announce teams, all stationed at ringside, then welcomed us to the show and put over their respective main events.

Ric Flair vs. Carlito
The start:
Carlito threw his apple at Flair as he came to the ring. Flair hit some chops at the bell, with Carlito trying to respond with punches. Carlito went for a sunset flip, but Flair dropped down on him and hit a series of punches. Flair continued the assault of punches and chops, then backdropped Carlito, who went to the floor to regroup. Carlito suckered Flair into reaching over the top rope to grab at him, and yanked Flair’s arm down across the top rope as he jumped from the apron go the floor.
Mid-match notes:
Carlito went to work on the arm, stomping it and applied an overhead wristlock. Carlito used a hammerlock on the arm, but Flair backed Carlito into a corner to break out. Carlito threw punches at Flair’s arm, then drove some elbows into it from the floor while stretching the arm over the ring apron. Carlito threw Flair shoulder first into the turnbuckles, then hit a series of rights, and did it again before scoring a two count. Carlito hit a kneedrop on the arm. Carlito wrapped Flair’s arm around the bottom rope and yanked on it, then whipped it into the steel ringpost from the floor. Carlito did it a second time, and then dropkicked the arm against the ringpost. Back in the ring, Carlito dropped an elbow on the arm, then slammed Flair. Flair rallied with some chops, but Carlito went after the arm again, then dropkicked Flair in the face as he was slumped in the corner. Carlito scored a two count, then applied an armbar. Flair rallied again with some chops, but Carlito threw a series of rights and wrapped the arm around the top rope and yanked on it. Carlito snapmared Flair and applied the armbar again. Flair armdragged out of it, but Carlito hit him with a clothesline for a two count, then stomped the arm and dropped an elbow on it.
Carlito elbowed Flair’s shoulder repeatedly, then sunk in the armbar again. Flair armdragged out, and clutched his left arm. Carlito nailed him with a dropkick for a two count. Carlito threw Flair into a corner, but Flair threw a chop at him. Flair rallied with more chops, finally knocking Carlito to the mat, to a pop from the crowd. Flair chopped him down again, but Carlito backdropped Flair for a two count, which Flair escaped by yanking Carlito off by the hair. Carlito went back to the armbar, pulling Flair’s hair at one point, so the referee made him break the hold. Carlito then sunk it back in, and raked Flair’s face, so he had to break it again. Carlito then reapplied, then switched to an overhead wristlock. Flair yelled in pain from the armbar, but armdragged out and chopped Carlito down. Flair hit a kick to the gut, chopped him, then punched Carlito to the mat. Flair snapmared Carlito and kicked him in the side of the head. Flair chopped Carlito against the ropes, then hit a reverse elbow and let out a “Whoo!”.
The Finish:
Flair backdropped Carlito, then chopblocked his knee, to a pop. Flair chopped and punched Carlito in a corner, but Carlito poked him in the eyes. Carlito went for a Backcracker, but Flair held onto the top rope and Carlito crashed down on his back. Flair started stomping Carlito’s knee, then hit a kneedrop to the leg. Flair kicked the legs, then applied the figure four leglock to a pop. The crowd was really into the figure four, which was applied in the center of the ring. Carlito struggled, then tapped out at the 16-minute mark.
Winner – Ric Flair
The Aftermath:
The crowd gave Flair a big ovation following the match.
Backstage:
Backstage, Todd Grisham interviewed Shawn Michaels. They recapped what happened on Raw last week before Michaels could comment. Michaels talked about the “rumor” that he wouldn’t be here. Before he could continue, Randy Orton jumped Michaels from behind and rammed him face first into the metal grid that made up the interview set. Michaels fell to the ground, clutching his face, and WWE Official Tony Garea ran in as Orton just walked off. Michaels kept clutching his face as they went to a video package on the Lashley-McMahon feud.
Handicap Match
Referee: Scott Armstrong
Bobby Lashley vs. Shane McMahon, Umaga and Mr. McMahon (c)
Lashley knocked Umaga over the top rope and then decked Shane as the bell rang. Lashley started pounding Vince, but Shane hit him from behind. Lashley tossed him away, knocked Umaga off the apron, then went after Vince again as he tried to crawl out of the ring, but Shane hit Lashley from behind and delivered some punches. Lashley tossed Shane in the corner and pounded him. Umaga went to avalanche Lashley from behind, but Lashley moved and Umaga squashed Shane in the corner. Lashley hit Umaga with a spear, then powerslammed Shane for the pin at about the one minute mark. Vince was on the floor, stunned.
Winner – Bobby Lashley
The Aftermath:
Vince, who lost his do-rag and has very short hair now, stared at Lashley from the aisle. Umaga got back in the ring and attacked Lashley, laying him out with the Samoan Spike. Vince grabbed the ECW Title belt, and said that while Lashley won the handicap match, he isn’t getting the title until he beats him. Vince announced that he is still the ECW World Champion, and left with the belt.
Backstage:
Backstage, the doctor was telling a woozy Shawn Michaels that he cannot go out and wrestle tonight. Michaels was too dazed to even respond.

Elijah Burke vs. CM Punk
The start:
Punk had his ribs heavily taped. Burke came to the ring alone. There was a chant for CM Punk at the start. Punk applied a waistlock at the start, but Burke reversed and went for the ribs, but Punk hit a forearm and a kick. Punk applied a headlock, but Burke hit him in the ribs. Punk delivered a leg kick, and they struggled into a corner, with neither man getting an advantage. They locked up and Burke hit some punches to the ribs in the corner, then decked him with a shot to the face.
Mid-match notes:
Burke kicked at the ribs, but Punk reversed a whip and hit a kick to the gut, then snapmared Burke and kicked him in the back. Punk slammed Burke for a one count, then applied a reverse chinlock. Burke armdragged out of it and hit some shots to the ribs, then a knee to the gut. Burke went for a slam, but Punk floated over and hit a pair of kicks to the body, then threw Burke with an exploder for a two count. Punk hit a pair of forearms in the corner, then a kick to the chest. Punk hit a running clothesline in the corner, then gave Burke a delayed vertical suplex for a two count. Punk went back to the chinlock, but Burke hit some elbows to the gut, then delivered a series of punches to the ribs before tagging him with one to the face again. Punk reversed a whip and hit some shots of his own. Burke leapfrogged Punk after a whip, but Punk jumped onto the second rope and hit a reverse bodypress. Burke kicked out at two, then went after the ribs again, hitting a shoulderblock. Punk kneed a charging Burke, then went for a jumping knee in the corner, but Burke dumped him over the top rope and to the floor. When Punk was getting back into the ring, he slid under Burke and pulled him down into a sunset flip for a two count. Punk applied a side headlock to Burke, but Burke shoved it off. Punk hit a shoulderblock, then the two traded hiptoss reversals until Punk scooped up Burke into a fireman’s carry. Burke grabbed the top rope to avoid the Go To Sleep, so Punk tossed Burke over the top rope. Burke landed on the apron, and Punk hit the old Chris Jericho second rope springboard dropkick, knocking Burke to the floor.
Punk then dove between the ropes to hit Burke with the elbow suicida. Back in the ring, Burke poked Punk in the eyes, but ran into a Punk boot. Punk went to the top rope, but Burke pulled him down hard into the ring and then drove a knee into the ribs for a two count. Burke started ripping the tape off of Punk’s ribs. Burke hung Punk on the top rope and kicked him right in the rings, then got a two count. Burke applied a bodyscissors on Punk. Punk got out with some elbows, but Burke hit a vertical suplex and a back suplex, then scored a two count. For some reason, ringside fans were yelling at JBL, chanting at him. Burke went back to the bodyscissors, but Punk fought out of it. They both went for kicks, then Punk grabbed a suplex attempt, but Burke turned it into an inside cradle for a two count. Punk ran into a Burke boot, and Burke went to the top rope. Punk stopped Burke, and the two battled on the rope. Punk hit a top rope superplex, which got the crowd back into the match. Both men were slow to get up, then started trading shots, Punk hit a pair of clotheslines, slid under Burke after he reversed a whip, and hit an enzugiri for two count. Punk hit a jumping knee in the corner, but as he went for a bulldog, Burke shoved him gut first into the corner. Burke went for the Elijah Express, but Punk moved out of the way and he smashed in the corner. Punk went for the Go To Sleep, but Burke hit him in the ribs and got out of it. Elijah Experience (STO) for a two count.
The Finish:
Burke sat Punk on the top rope, facing away from the ring, and hit the Elijah Express (double jumping knee) to the back. Punk fell backwards into the tree of woe, and Burke charged in again. Burke covered, but Punk got his hand on the ropes. Burke lifted up Punk for another Elijah Experience, but Punk blocked it and hit the Go To Sleep (fireman’s carry into a knee to the face) for the pin at the sixteen minute mark.
Winner – CM Punk
Backstage:
Kristal interviewed Edge backstage. Edge bragged about his recent accomplishments, and said that Batista would not be taking the World Title tonight. Edge said the “Rated-R Era” has begun.
-Randy Orton makes his way to the ring. He tells the ring announcer to announce HBK’s forfeit. He starts to make the announcement and HBK’s music hits. He is all dazed and confused.
Shawn Michaels vs. Randy Orton
He makes it to the apron and the ref tells him he doesn’t have to do this. HBK says to ring the bell and he reluctantly does. Orton nails HBK and he is down. Orton drags him in, hangs him in the ropes and SPIKE DDT’S him for a close 2. Another cover for 2. HBK is all glassy eyed and Orton tells the ref to move. Orton lays the boots to his head. Orton picks him up, and then drops him. The ref checks on him again and then Orton picks him up, sets HBK up top, slaps him and goes for the RKO but HBK rakes his eyes. Orton back to the corner, eye poke again by HBK. Shoves Orton off and gets all the way up and gets an elbow drop. HBK pulls himself to his feet, he tunes up the Christian Rock Bandâ<80>¦and falls down. Orton looks on and the ref stops the match.
Winner: Randy Orton @ 4:48 via pin
-After the match the ref checks on HBK as Orton looks on. HBK to his feetâ<80>¦RKO by Orton! HBK’s hot blonde wife Rebecca hits the ring. She gets down and cries as she checks on him. The doctor is back out with trainers as she freaks out. They get ready to stretcher it out as JR says this is all disturbing, you can say that again.
-Khali talks with the WWE title. The translator dude is there, Khali talks in Khali, ring of the king, Red Robin, Undertaker in the room. The translator says Cena can come and get some.
World Tag Team Title Match: The Hardy’s © vs. Cade and Murdoch
JBL and Cole are oddly on commentary. Matt and Cade to begin. Lock up to the corner they go, and they break. Takedown and reversals by both, hip tosses by Matt and Cade to his corner. They shake and a side headlock by Cade, reversals by Matt and a hammerlock applied. Matt reverses and to the ropes they go. They circle, lock up and a side headlock by Matt. Off the ropes and a hip toss by Cade for 2. Arm bar and the tag to Murdoch. To the arm he goes, shoulder blocks and a tag back to Cade. Back to the arm he goes and takes Matt down. Matt just JACKS Cade with a right, elbows and tags in Jeff. Slings in with a dropkick for 2. Tag to Murdoch and they back off and Murdoch yells, “BY THE RULES MAN!” Arm bar by Murdoch, Jeff kips up and gets the hammerlock. Back elbow by Murdoch, hip toss and they stand off. They shake, lock up and a headlock by Jeff. Off the ropes and arm bars by Jeff. Tag to Matt, poetry in motion on Murdoch. Clothesline by Matt and a cover for 2. Arm bar by Matt, rights to the shoulder by Matt. Back elbow and Matt to the 2nd ropeâ<80>¦elbow to Murdoch and a cover for 2. Arm bar again, Murdoch escapes and tags in Cade. Boot by Murdoch and a clothesline by Cade. He covers for 2. Sweet dropkick by Cade gets 2. Tag to Murdoch, boots to Matt and then slaps to Matt. Knees to Matt, back to their corner, Cade in and they slam Matt to the corner. Knees by Cade, tag to Murdoch and elbows to Matt. Vader splash stopped by Matt’s knees, Jeff tags in and runs wild with clotheslines. Corner punches by Jeff, corner dropkick by Jeff gets 2. Irish whip and a whisper in the wind by Jeff. All 4 in and the Hardy’s dump Murdoch and Cade. Cade and Murdoch start to walk away and then talk. Ref counts, and they come back in. Murdoch claps for Jeff and then a thumbs up. Side headlock by Jeff, off the ropes and a slam to the corner by Murdoch. He gets tossed to the floor, Jeff then MISSES a sling shot senton on Murdoch. Matt checks on Jeff, Murdoch goes and tells the ref to watch as he kindly brings him back in and covers for 2. Tag to CadeKnees by Cade, drops the pad and then more knee drops. Assisted leg drop by Cade and Murdoch gets 2 on Jeff. Murdoch works a chinlock, rights by Jeff to escape and gets the jawbreaker doesn’t connect and Murdoch kicks his face off and covers for 2. Cade tags back in and Murdoch slams him into Jeff. Cade and Murdoch use the count and have never “cheated” yet. Murdoch grabs Jeffâ<80>¦WEST TEXAS DESTROYER connects for 2, and it looked MUCH better than the last few times. Jawbreaker by Jeff, both men down and Cade tags in, misses an elbows and Matt tags in! Matt cleans house and gets a bulldog/clothesline combo for 2. Side Effect by Matt gets 2 as Murdoch save it. Rights to Murdoch, Matt tosses him. SITOUT spinebuster by Cade on Matt gets 2. World Heavyweight Title Match: Edge © vs. Batista
Batista stalks Edge, who retreats into the ropes. Lock up and Batista tosses Edge down. Go behind by Batista, and into the ropes Edge goes. Lock up and Batista sets Edge on the ropes and backs away. Lock up, off the ropes and a shoulder block by Batista. Rights by Batista, to the ribs now and then off the ropes and a back elbow by Batista and a cover for 2. Lock up and Edge rakes the eyes. Charges and tossed to the floor. Batista to the floor, slams Edge into the apron, picks him up, Edge escapes and tosses Batista into the steps knee first. Batista slams Edge to the apron again. Back in and a basement dropkick to the knee by Edge. Chop block by Edge now. Spinning toehold by Edge, kicked off and Batista misses a spear and eats the post. Edge works the arm around the ropes. Rights by Batista, kicks by Edge and back to the arm. Rights by Batista, but Edge kicks at the arm. Edge into an arm bar now, working the arm and shoulder. Hammerlock now, Edge still in control. Arm drag by Batista, off the ropes and a boot by Edge. Batista slams him to the corner and sets Edge up top. Edge knocks him off, dives and Batista with a clothesline. Both men down, they exchange rights and off the ropes, backdrop by Batista. Corner clothesline now and a boot by Edge. Rights by Batista, and a powerslam gets 2. Irish whip and boot by Edge, but he runs into a Bossman slam for 2. Slam countered and the Edgucuton by Edge gets 2. Edge sets for a spearâ<80>¦but Batista gets one! Cover 1â<80>¦2â<80>¦NO! Batista grabs Edge, Irish whip and grabs up Edgeâ<80>¦running powerslam. Rope Shake. Thumbs down, Edge counters and a spinebuster by Batista. Edge then rolls him up with the tights for the win!

WWE United States Championship – 2 out of 3 falls Match: Chris Benoit © vs. Montel Vontavious Porter
Lock up and to the ropes they go. Back center, around the ropes now and to the mat, they roll to the floor and break. Back in and they stand off. Slaps, cross face try and MVP escapes. Knuckle lock now, lock up and arm drags and a cross face try by Benoit and MVP into the ropes. Leg kicks by MVP, lock up now and MVP with a headlock and takes Benoit down. They exchange kicks and rights, knees by Benoit and they break. Leg dive by MVP, Benoit tries to grab an arm and MVP counters. Benoit into the ropes and they break. Chops by Benoit, rights now, off the ropes and a rolling dive to the legs by MVP and a cover for 2. Elbows to the leg by MVP, works a leg lock now. Kicks by MVP and a cover for 2. MVP back to the leg, Benoit tries to kick back but MVP slams him back down. Chops by Benoit, but kicks again by MVP. Benoit back with more chops, tries a German but MVP counters. German now connects. A 2nd and then a 3rd. Benoit’s knee gives out but he gets a cross face and MVP gets the ropes. Leg kicks again by MVP, works the leg and Benoit is down. Kawada Kick misses and Benoit gets a sharpshooter on MVP, but he gets the ropes. MVP grabs the leg, dropkick by Benoit. Enziguri by Benoit and he grabs his leg. MVP chop blocks him and lays the boots to the leg. Benoit grabs MVP on his shoulders, knee gives and MVP gets the playmaker for the pin @ 8:17.
The ref checks the knee of Benoit and we’re set to continue. Benoit tackles MVP, knees now to MVP and chops follow. Off the ropes and MVP drapes the leg over the apron and elbows connect. MVP covers for 2. Spinning toehold into a knee drop by MVP. MVP gets the tree of woe, rights to Benoit and then a Kawada kick to the knee of Benoit. The ref rescues Benoit and MVP covers for 2. Single leg lock by MVP applied. MVP beats on the knee with rights, chops by Benoit now. MVP escapes the cross face and gets the crazy overhead leg lock on Benoit. Benoit tries for the ropes, fights, and gets the ropes. MVP is pissed, back to work on Benoit with knees to the head. Playmaker countered by Benoit and he gets a cross face! MVP fights to escape, does and rolls through with a roll up for 2. Roll up again and MVP gets the pin!

(8) WWE title match: John Cena vs. The Great Khali.
Cena came out first. Khali came out with the WWE title, and hoisted it up in the air. Still no Lilian Garcia to do the ring announcing. Bell rings to start the match at 10:31PM ET time. Khali hits a big clothesline to start the match after Cena opened working on Khali’s mid section. On the outside, Khali rammed Cena into the ring steps. Khali tossed Cena back in the ring, and covered him with a boot, but Cena kicked out. Khali leg dropped Cena. Mike Chioda is the referee. Khali hit another clothesline, but missed a leg drop. Again on the outside, Khali rammed Cena into the Raw announce table. Khali got tied up in the ropes, and Cena started pounding on the challenger, but Khali quickly recovered. The action again turns to the outside. Cena drop kicked the ring steps into Khali’s knee. Cena hits a leg drop from the top rope. STFU by Cena.
Khali taps out at 8:15 and your winner and STILL WWE champion, John Cena.
Cena retains the title, and is given the championship belt by Choida. After the match, they showed highlights of the match.
