Last week’s Saturday Night’s Main Event show on NBC drew a 2.2 rating with a 5.0 share. The expected low rating is why NBC wanted the show moved to late night to begin with. In comparison, the Saturday Night Live repeat from the previous weekend during the same time slot drew a 3.9 rating and a 10.0 share. While the SNME rating may look bad, Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals, which aired earlier in the evening from 8-11 p.m., brought record low ratings to NBC for a prime-time program, sports or otherwise. The game received a 1.1 national rating and a 2.0 share. That number matched a rerun of The West Wing on July 23, 2005, which also drew a 1.1 rating. Furthermore, there are some people within WWE who believe that the rating was even lower than the number being reported.
