Theodore Long has been told that he’s going to stay on as the General Manager of SmackDown. Original plans called for Vickie Guerrero wind up as the sole GM of SmackDown, but plans are constantly changing. At the moment, there is no set long-term direction on where the angle is going. What is known is that Vince McMahon is strong on keeping her on as a television character, so it looks like she’ll being staying on as the Assistant GM for the forseeable future. Furthermore, Guerrero is universally liked in the locker room. One of the reasons they haven’t gone through with the full change is because Long is good in his role, especially at house shows. He’s also great with P.R. and interacting with fans. Considering that Vickie Guerrero is raising her three kids, she doesn’t go on house shows, and thus she wouldn’t be able to fill Long’s non-television duties.
