Huge Updated News On Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones To TNA

Scott Benningfield sent this in: Just wanted to pass this on that this morning during my wonderful morning commute, and listening to Bob & Tom, (Adam “Pacman” Jones) was mentioned. They also kept referred to WWE as WWF, but corrected themselves stating that Pacman was going to be acting a manager role, most likely with no in-ring action in WWE’s rival, TNA, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.

Matt Bouchard sent this in: “Pacman” Jones signing with TNA was discussed during ESPN’s Pardon the Interruption this evening. The usual hosts (Wilbon & Kornheiser) were replaced today by Bob Ryan and some other no name. The no name host at one point asked, “What in the world is TNA? Is it another WWF or something?” The other host called it the arena league of pro wrestling.

As expected, many people within TNA are furious over the news of this signing being leaked. Based on what is known at this point, this was Jeff Jarrett’s idea that came with full approval from the Tennessee Titans organization. The feeling within the Titans organization was that it would give Jones “something to do” while he was suspended, as opposed to being left to do whatever he wanted which could possibly lead to worse situations in his personal life.

Worrick Robinson, an attorney for Jones, stated that he wouldn’t be wrestling for TNA or be portrayed as a villain. We have heard talk of TNA wanting to get him in the ring, although we haven’t been able to confirm anything at this point besides what has been initially reported since late last night. An official announcement by TNA is expected to take place either tomorrow or later this week (probably before or during TV this Thursday night).

As reported earlier, this was not an idea by Vince Russo. However, Kevin Eck – who worked for WCW, wrote the following in his Baltimore Sun blog when he was told Russo had nothing to do with the decision: “As someone who worked for WCW when Russo frequently spoke about the company needing a publicity stunt to turn things around–such as the suggestion of paying O.J. Simpson $1 million to take a lie detector test on a WCW PPV, I find that hard to believe.”
