As noted yesterday, there have been discussions all week about what to do about the declining ratings for Raw. It is believed the “Vince McMahon is Dead” storyline will continue somehow, obviously without the part of him being “dead.” Before the Chris Benoit tragedy, there was a major storyline planned that involved Vince, Linda, Ken Kennedy, Triple H, Stephanie and others. It may be revived starting tonight. This will likely open the show.
It was reported a few weeks ago that former WWE star Dan “Waylon Mercy” Spivey was arrested for driving under the influence in Odess, Florida. He was later released on $500 bond. You can see Spivey’s mugshot and charge report at the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office’s official website (www.hcso.tampa.fl.us). After retiring from wrestling 1995 due to an injury, Spivey took up modeling. Through his now-defunct website, he was looking for modeling work as late as 2000.
The theme for WWE 24/7 in September will be yet another International theme. The month will feature a HOF profile on The Iron Sheik, the WCW Collision in Korea PPV from 1995, WWE European Rampage â91, and William Regal will host the Shorties section. September is also scheduled to feature the videos of the 15 finalists from WWE’s “Biggest Fan Contest.” In the “Pick Your Big One” feature, SummerSlam ’94 beat out SummerSlam ’88 and SummerSlam ’91 in the fan voting. SummerSlam ’94 will air sometime later this month on WWE 24/7.
