This Weeks WWE RAW Rating Is In, JBL, & More Notes

  • Last night’s RAW scored hours of 3.46 and 3.49 for a 3.48 cable rating (3.5), which is down from last week’s 4.08 rating for the anniversary episode. The show averaged 4,857,500 viewers.
  • For those still wondering, JBL will be a regular on Raw, and will first feud with Chris Jericho.
  • With the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission meeting today to decide the future of professional wrestling in the state, WWE’s leading attorney Jerry McDevitt fired a warning. “If those regulation are applied to us, we won’t do Georgia,” he said. The group regulate the state’s boxing and MMA as well as ticket brokers. While wrestling falls under the same commission, WWE were exempt thanks to a 2005 statute that excluded groups with total assets or more than $25 million. Only the Legislature can undo the exemption. Cary Ichter, one of the board’s commissioners and the attorney representing Chris Benoit’s father in legal wars against WWE, is pushing for the commission to regulate wrestling as well. Ichter said that he wasn’t surprised that WWE threatened to pull out of the state. “What else would you expect a bully to say?” he said. (Thanks to Colin Vassallo)
