As most know by now, Carlito has rescinded his request to be released from WWE and will remain with the company. After a series of events which included TNA acquiring Booker T, the last thing Vince McMahon wanted was another one of his â<80><9c>big nameâ<80> superstars to end up with a competing promotion.
In an attempt to resolve things, Vince McMahon met with Carlito at the December 3rd RAW taping at the North Charleston Coliseum in North Charleston, South Carolina and according to our sources was able to convince Carlito to stay with the company. The feeling backstage in WWE is that Carlito is a valuable asset to the company especially since they are trying to gain exposure in Central and South America and Carlito is one of the few superstars that can speak Spanish fluently.
Carlitoâ<80><99>s unhappiness in WWE began when he told the Ottawa Sun that he was upset about not being included on the WrestleMania 23 card and that he wanted to turn heel again. Carlitoâ<80><99>s father Carlos Colon had also grown frustrated with WWE because he felt that his WWC promotion should be utilized as a developmental territory for the company. He also wanted to run join shows with WWE but was unable to get any support.
As things currently stand Carlito will continue on RAW as a heel. The company started to repair his character by giving him a ladder match for the Intercontinental Title against Jeff Hardy on the 15th RAW Anniversary show. Company management was said to be very pleased with the bout.
