The Georgia Senate will vote on the Georgia Senate bill 413 today. The bill would give the Georgia Athletic Commission the power to regulate professional wrestling events ran in the state. Several regulations have been passed by the Regulated Industries Committee and it is now up to the Senate to vote. Today (March 11, 2009) is the deadline for outstanding bills to be voted on in the Senate if they are to become state law.
Todayâ<80><99>s Atlanta Journal Constitution has an article now online on all bills that are essentially dead if not passed today in the state. Here is what they said about Senate bill 413:
SB 413 would put professional wrestling under the purview of the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission, commonly called the Boxing Commission. As a result, WWE performers would be subject to random drug testing and physical examinations before matches.
