TNA has a truck going around Orlando telling people to watch TNA iMPACT! Thursday nights on Spike TV. Furthermore, TNA has plans for the truck to be driven around the Citrus Bowl area later today as well. TNA also has special area set up right next to the WWE’s Fan Axxess center.
Actor Freddie Prinze Jr. of She’s All That and Home Alone’s Macaulay Culkin & his brother(s) were in attendance at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony last night. Baseball Hall of Famer Wade Boggs (who inducted “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig last year) was also seen sitting on the floor area with the WWE people.
FloridaToday.com has an article on former WWE star Marc Mero — who lives in Orlando — and he says that some of his friends with free tickets for WrestleMania asked him to go to the show. Mero turned down the offers because he doesn’t want to embarrass his friends by the heckling from the crowd that would likely occur. “I can take it, I have a thick skin,” Mero says. “But I don’t want to put anyone in a situation that might cause them embarrassment.” The article notes that Mero is not particularly popular amongst people in the wrestling community. However, Mero is okay with it if his ‘list’ stops at 30 people.
In today’s Post and Courier, Shawn Michaels has a Ric Flair tribute on what wrestling his idol in his last ever wrestling match means to him. Mike Mooneyham, who posted the article, is close friends with Flair and was invited to the Hall of Fame ceremony last night.
On WWE.com, they have Josh Mathews (who is still employed) and Candice Michelle (seen wearing a sling) giving updates throughout today regarding WrestleMania. They’ve posted three videos today, and will post a fourth one later today with Candice showing off the outfit she plans on wearing at WrestleMania tonight. In the third video, Candice is seen sharing a beer with some local tailgaters. “It helps after surgery,” Candice said. The two plan on showing off the WrestleMania set sometime later today.
