WWE has spent over $300,000 on fireworks for tonight’s WrestleMania. A story in the Orlando Sentinel today notes that the pyrotechnics will be set off from boats on the lake behind the Citrus Bowl.
The article also notes that Orlando is already gearing up to bring WrestleMania back in 2011 or 2012. Mayor Buddy Dyer told the newspaper that heâ<80><99>d like to bring the event back to Orlando every 2 to 4 years.
Orlando city officials have done so well that Linda McMahon has stated that they have set the new standard for promoting and hosting WrestleMania. She has told reporters that she hopes Orlando has started a trend of city officials offering to hold WrestleMania.
The mood at last night’s Hall of Fame ceremony was very emotional for all of the WWE superstars. Several of the superstars broke down during Ric Flair’s acceptance speech and were unable to hold it together despite their hardest efforts. I was told by one worker that tonight is going to be even harder when Ric Flair walks through the curtain for his match against Shawn Michaels.
Speaking of Flair, he has gone on record as to saying that if he loses tonight he will never wrestle again.
