ESPN To Air Mid-South and AWA Wrestling, McGuinness/ROH


Tonight on ESPN Classic at 2am EST, “Cheap Seats” will feature a 1980 broadcast of Mid-South Wrestling with Iron Sheik, Kerry Von Erich, and Paul Orndorff. The show airs one hour after the AWA show is over, which airs at 12am EST. The AWA show on ESPN Classic will feature the following matches: Nikita Koloff squash, Larry Zbyszko squash, The Trooper squash, Destruction Crew vs. D.J. Peterson and Brad Rheingans for the AWA Tag Titles.

Nigel McGuinness is set to defend the ROH Title against El Generico in Cleveland, Oh, on Aug. 15. The company also noted in their weekly news wire that Brent Albright’s win over Adam Pearce marked the first time in history that the NWA Title has changed hands in New York.
