Tons of News Coming Out of Summerslam; Injury Updates

While there appear to be no serious injuries coming out of Summerslam tonight, there were a few minor injuries to be reported.

During the Punk/JBL match, both guys fell and clunked heads pretty hard which resulted in Punk getting busted open the hard way. He was bleeding pretty badly but seemed to be okay after the match. He will most likely need stitches and will not miss any ring time. JBL was seen twitching his fingers following the head bump with Punk, and it’s being said that he continued having a tingling sensation in his arm and hand following the bout. Numbing or tingling of the fingers and hands can be associated with back or neck injuries, however nothing has been confirmed at this point.

Shawn Michales’ wife Rebecca took a stiff shot from Chris Jericho during their segment on the PPV. It’s being reported that her lip continued to swell up backstage following the bit, but it’s nothing serious.

Prior to the Summerslam pay-per-view in Indianapolis, Indiana, The Big Show defeated Bam Neely in a dark match.

There were 15,977 fans in attendance at The Conseco Fieldhouse for the PPV making it a legit sellout.

Mick Foley was not at the SummerSlam PPV and it appears as though he is finishing up with WWE. Tazz and Jim Ross will be calling things over on SmackDown! while The Grish and Matt Striker will be calling ECW each week.

It appears that creative might be doing a gimmick style match between Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels, possibly at Unforgiven in a few weeks. It could be something along the lines of a ‘Career Threatening Match’ or ‘Loser Leaves WWE’ match. It should be noted that Shawn Michaels is not retiring any time soon. There have been reports that he’s interested in lightening his schedule, but he is not considering retirement at this point.
