NEW NWA WORLD CHAMPION

Mexico City, MX (October 25, 2008) â<80>” Centro Banamex Convention Center was a history making site as it hosted the NWA┢ World Heavyweight Championship match featuring Adam Pearce Vs. Blue Demon, Jr. In the end, Blue Demon, Jr. won the famous “10 lbs. of Gold” in a very controversial fashion.

“I passed out while Demon had me in a Half Boston Crab and when I woke up I was told that I was under the rope and the Referee had stopped that match. This is clearly against the NWA Rule Book and I will be taking this up with Trobich. Demon, you are not the NWA World Champion,” said former champion Adam Pearce.

“I think Pearce has a case. I’ve reviewed the footage and he is in the right, his arm is under the rope, but in the NWA, the Referee’s decision if final,” states Ruben Zamora of NWA Latin American Relations.

Blue Demon, Jr. is the first Mexican and Masked Wrestler to ever win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in the six decades the National Wrestling Alliance has been in business.

NWA VIRGINIA NEWS

(King and Queen County, Va) – In front of a near capacity crowd, the NWA continued its successful series of shows in this part of the Commonwealth. American Ranger started off the night by defeating “The Dustman” Mark Anthony via pinfall. Newcomer Fenrir defeated “I’m Better Than You” Mark Bravura. Bravura was in possession of Grail’s Alpha Championship belt which he stole from Grail at the Crab Carnival event earlier in the month. Grail reclaimed possession of the belt by using it on the head of Bravura. Fenrir then rolled up a groggy Bravura. In the first semi-final match-up to crown NWA Fusion tag team champions, [NWA Virginia tag titles are being renamed NWA Fusion] Assault and Battery upset the tournament favorite Geordie Bulldogs w/Shy when HotBody pinned Markie D with a roll-up from behind! In an Alpha Title defense, Grail with manager Neil Sharkey, successfully turned back the challenge of Krotch who had Shiek Ali Akbar with him. Grail pinned Krotch with a fisherman’s suplex.

Following intermission, NWA Continental Heavyweight Champion “Big Time” Mike Booth came out to address the crowd. He spoke about how he was the hardest working and most under-appreciated member of the Old School Empire. He stated that now that it is his time to shine his former partner Preston Quinn is jealous of him. This brought out Quinn who had some comments of his own. The crowd easily chose Quinn over Booth. While Quinn was refuting the whines of Booth, former NWA North American and Continental Heavyweight Champion Damian Wayne came out. Wayne claimed that since his opponent Pat Cusik was too afraid to show for their match, that he was asking for his rematch against Booth. Wayne asked that the match become a three way dance. NWA Promoter, and Board of Director member, Rick OBrien came out and was speaking to NWA Executive Director Bob Trobich via cell phone. Trobich said that a three way dance is acceptable and OBrien conveyed that message. The main event was then changed to an all Old School Empire explosion!

In the second semi-final tag team title tournament, Da New Bloodz, wildly popular with the fans, defeated The Frat, who had recieved a bye into this round. Despite several underhanded attempts at victory, The Frat fell short and Da New Bloodz advanced to the finals! Following the pinfall, Assault and Battery attacked DNB and sent a rather powerful message as to what DNB can look forward to at Gold & Glory IV on February 21 in Saluda, Va!

In the main event of the evening, NWA Continental Heavyweight Champion “Big Time” Mike Booth was pummeled by his former stable mates and tag team partners at first. Quinn and Wayne worked over the champion mercilessly and made him pay for his earlier comments. Fortunately for him, both Wayne and PQ wanted the Commonwealth strap. For over 20 minutes Quinn, Wayne and Booth battered each other with hard-hitting, high flying manuevers, including Wayne hitting a flying cross body block from the top rope to the outside onto Quinn and Booth and his guillotine legdrop from the top rope onto a prone Quinn! The end came when Quinn caught Wayne with a vicious DDT and then got caught by a Booth clothesline. This allowed Booth to pin Wayne cleanly and walk out of the match as a legitimate threat to anyone who holds the NWA World Heavyweight Championship belt. Booth silenced his critics this evening by surviving the match, outsmarting Quinn, and cleanly pinning one of the best the NWA has to offer in Wayne. Mike Booth’s star is on the rise.

“I told people I was going to win tonight, but no one believed me,” he said after the match. “This is the best time to be ‘Big Time’!”

The next NWA event in Virginia is in Lebanon on November 1 at the Lebanon Middle School. “Gold & Glory IV” will be February 21 for he Hartfield Volunteer Fire Department and “Shanghai Showdown III” back at the King and Queen County Elementary School will be in March. The NWA is currently negotiating with a venue in Fairfax County, Virginia. Could a new venue be in the works?

NWA ECCW

October 24, 2008

Bridgeview Hall

Surrey, BC

The descent into hell was completed on Friday night, October 24th.. and Memphis is the man to emerge from it with the NWA/ECCW Championship! The finale to a fantastic and bloody night of action saw Memphis score the biggest victory of the year, defeating former champion Scotty Mac, Kyle O’Reilly, El Phantasmo and Rick The Weapon X inside the steel cage to win his first NWA/ECCW Championship! After Phantasmo and Kyle had fallen to the floor through tables and Rick The Weapon X was knocked out of the match, Scotty and Memphis exchanged their signature submission holds, until Memphis cinched in his hold, adding a choke to Scotty Mac for good measure! The NWA/ECCW Champion struggled to do anything to break the hold, but finally passed out in the midst of the hold… and as the referees conferred at ringside, NWA representative Mike Sweetser made the decision to call for the bell, ending the match and Scotty Mac’s ten-month reign as champion! The capacity

crowd in Surrey cheered the new heavyweight champion as Memphis held the belt up high, but even as this happened, Chill Town was already filing its protests, stating that Scotty Mac never tapped out and should not have lost! There will apparently be a statement from the NWA in the near future, but the decision is final – Memphis is the new NWA/ECCW heavyweight champion!

The story even continued after the match, as Kyle O’Reilly and El Phantasmo, the best of friends, had a serious misunderstanding on the floor, and began fighting tooth and nail throughout the Bridgeview Hall! The two were finally restrained by ECCW officials and security, with both screaming for the head of the other! Has one of the strongest friendships in ECCW been torn asunder by the effects of the steel cage?

The fans were ordered to bring the weapons, and bring them they did – and the four teams in the Fans Bring The Weapons match for the NWA/ECCW tag team championship used each and eveyr one of them to bloody and mutiliate each other! The champions Nelson Creed & Kenny Lush had everything they could handle and more with former champions Sid Sylum & Dropkick Murphy, as well as contenders Pop Culture and Cremator & Moondog Manson, with all eight men being busted open in the contest! The four were reduced to two as Cremator pinned Cole Bishop in the middle of the ring at the same time that Ice pinned Moondog Manson on the floor, eliminating both teams from the contest and leaving the new champions and former champions to battle it out! And in the end, it was Nelson Creed and Kenny Lush victorious, as they left Sid Sylum with blood streaming from his head after a vicious double chairshot left him dangling in the ropes, his head busted open like a melon! The

wars over the tag team titles are not over, as all three teams are licking their wounds and demanding individual matches in the near future!

The women had their time to shine, and their time to brutalize, as Nicole Matthews more than had her hands full against her two arch-rivals, former champions Penni Lane and Veronika Vice! Nicole tried to play Penni and Veronika against each other, which backfired on her, but the lust for SuperGirls championship gold was too much for the two favorites to take, as Penni and Veronika began to lace into each other! The battle spilled to the floor with chairs and fans being scattered throughout the Bridgeview Hall, as Nicole was planted with a vicious DDT onto a table! The match made its way to the stage area, where Nicole’s main squeeze Sid Sylum tried getting involved, only to be blindsided by Kenny Lush! But as Lush and Sylum went at it, with Penni and Nicole going at it right behind, an errant clothesline by Lush caught Penni square in the jaw, knocking her out and allowing Nicole the cover to retain the SuperGirls championship!

Other results from a hot night in Surrey:

“Brilliant” Billy Suede successfully defended the NWA Canadian junior heavyweight title against Artemis Spencer, with The Divine Prophet as special referee… perhaps looking to recruit one of the two junior heavyweight stars into the Prophecy?

Santa Funk won the side-splitting costume battle royal, last eliminating The Grinch

Azeem The Dream’s Dream Challenge was a success, as he scored the win over top votegetter Todd Quality. After the contest, Quality’s partner Jamie Diaz berated him, calling him a loser, and even yelling at his own distraught mother at ringside!

In tornado tag team action, The Kelownafornians defeated “Mad Dog” Marty Sugar & Mikey D

ECCW returns to the Russian Community Centre in Vancouver this Saturday night, November 1st! Not only will Azeem The Dream and Penni Lane square off in an intergender match, but Ice will face Cremator in a bodybag match – where the only way to win is to stuff your opponent into a bodybag and zip it shut! In addition, newly crowned NWA/ECCW Champion Memphis will have his first title defense against Rick The Weapon X, and Nelson Creed & Kenny Lush will defend the NWA/ECCW tag team championship against the team they took them from, Sid Sylum & Dropkick Murphy! Tickets are on sale now here on ECCW.com and at all Vancouver ticket outlets!
