Indy wrestler Diamond Icee has become a big name on the Indy scene. Not only is she a wrestler but she also holds multiple roles including being a very proud mom of two girls. You will learn of how her faith in God pulled her through a very hard time in her life and how her faith follows her into the ring to this very day.

Melissa: Hey Diamond, I wanted to thank you for taking the time out of your very busy schedule to spend some time with our viewers today.

Diamond: Thanks for having me, Melissa

Melissa: Would you mind sharing with our viewers a little about how you got your start in the indy circuit?

Diamond: I started back in 2000 with my brother the Texas Legend Action Jackson at PCW in Arlington TX. There I did cardio for 6 months before I even got to step into the ring. I debuted at XCW in Denton TX where I worked as the enforcer for Black for Popular Demand, Sidd Murder and Gemini, and at the time we did shows on MADTV. I then worked for NGW which was in Ft. Worth TX and from there I have been traveling from NAW in Cleburn TX to Amarillo TX at NWAâ<80><99>SW/PWF to NTWA in Gunnoll TX to New Brauntels TX at UCW. Then I debuted at one of the top Federations in Texas, the ACW in San Antonio TX. This is where I did my first show thatâ<80><99>s on a DVD.

Melissa: How many years have you been wrestling?

Diamond: Eight long years.

Melissa: Oh, thatâ<80><99>s great! How many Federations have you worked for?

Diamond: I would say about ten Federations even as we speak

Melissa: According to your MySpace page, you a firm believer in God. How has your faith in God come into play with you, not only in your personal life but also in the ring?

Diamond: As far as my wrestling career, I have had fans email me and actually talk to me about whatâ<80><99>s really going on in their life. I have had those that wanted to commit suicide but knew if they talked to someone that would listen they would have a change of heart. When I go to the ring and see how little kids cry for me when I am hurt, it shows me that as a role model, no matter if they hate me or not, they still respect me as far as being someone that you still can come to. As far as my personal life, it has brought me closer to God because I canâ<80><99>t even think of the times I should have been dead and gone. God spared my life each and every time I stepped into the ring.

Melissa: Aside from being an indy wrestler, what other roles do you lead in your life?

Diamond: I was an assistant principal, a teacher, and a motivational speaker. I am a choir director at my dadâ<80><99>s church.

Melissa: Wow! That sounds like a lot, how do you handle it all?

Diamond: With none other than Godâ<80><99>s help.

Melissa: I also read on your MySpace page that you unfortunately lost a child back in 2000, which must have been a very painful experience for you to endure. Would you mind telling us what happened?

Diamond: Sureâ<80>¦ I was in college and pregnant. I had studied hard for an exam. After the exam I was so stressed because I knew that I had passed. When I got the exam back, which I passed, I felt like I had an accident on my self. So I asked to be excused and went to the restroom. As soon as I was on the toilet a glob of blood came out and I said oh no. I then went to the classroom and told the instructor I had to go to the hospital. By the expression on my face she knew it wasnâ<80><99>t good. My friend rushed me to the ER. They told me my child was gone. I then was told that I needed to go home and rest. I told them I was hurting and they said that I needed to sit in some warm water. When I did get home I got in the tub and I felt like pushing, so I did. Out came my babyâ<80><99>s ribs and all. I then jumped out of the tub and got my medical gloves and called the ER. They had the nerve to tell me that if I want to bring my baby in then I could. That messed me up mentally. I became this woman that didnâ<80><99>t care. My heart became cold like ice towards people. So when I became a wrestler thatâ<80><99>s how I became known as Icee, a coldhearted chick.

Melissa: Well, even though it was eight years ago, my condolences go out to you and your family. I am so very sorry.

Melissa: On a happier note, what is it like for you being a mom?

Diamond: Itâ<80><99>s great! My diamonds keep me on my toes all the time. I donâ<80><99>t know where I would be if God hadnâ<80><99>t bless me with my two precious baby girls.

Melissa: What do your children think of you being a wrestler?

Diamond: Well, considering that my oldest is 6 going on 26 and my 4 year old is going on 24, I would say they love to see me wrestle and it bothers them that I am away a lot traveling.

Melissa: We all know that the wrestling industry in its entirety is a male dominated sport, how have you found it being a female in the wrestling circuit?

Diamond: I find it so rare that not only being a female wrestler of worker but being a black female. There arenâ<80><99>t many females in the indy circuits.

Melissa: You are currently the UCW Womenâ<80><99>s Champion. When you look back over the eight years that you have been wrestling, would you ever have imagined you would be at the point that youâ<80><99>re at today?

Diamond: Honestly, no I didnâ<80><99>t. When I started I was trying so hard to bust my butt to prove to folks that I am where I am not because of my brother but because I am me. I donâ<80><99>t walk in any ones shadow but my own.

Melissa: You must be planning to make wrestling a career for quite awhile, am I correct?

Diamond: Yes you are. I was told to retire due to head injuries and other medical conditions but I will stop wrestling when God tells me to, not before and not after.

Melissa: It seems you have many hopes and dreams for your future in the wrestling circuit, what is your mindset for getting there?

Diamond: All I can do is train more and learn more. The more you learn the stronger your mindset will be.

Melissa: Are you aiming for a specific company that you want to work for such as WWE or TNA?

Diamond: Melissa, I never knocked an opportunity in life. If WWE or TNA decides that I am what they are looking for then I will go and be the best I can be for the promotion or the federation with my mind, heart, and soul.

Melissa: Which WWE Divas or TNA Knockouts do you admire the most and why?

Diamond: I would say currently Jaqualine only because Jazz isnâ<80><99>t at either WWE or TNA. But I have always looked up to them. Why? Because they remind me of how I am in the ring.

Melissa: Which one would you like to go head to head with in you future â<80><9c>big timeâ<80> debut and why?

Diamond: I know my parents are going to have a fit but I love a challenge(laughs). I would want to go either against Jazz or Awesome Kong, maybe even Beth Pheniox. Why? Because I am a powerful woman and that is what type of match I would love to be in.

Melissa: If you could give some advice to not only women but men also who want to make wrestling a career, what would you say to them?

Diamond: If you think you have what it takes to put your body through what we put our bodies through every week, can sacrifice your pride and time, and can respect others in the business then wrestling might be for you.

Melissa: Well Diamond, thanks for stopping and sharing your life with our WrestleZone viewers! The future surely is looking up for you! I wish you the best in and out of the ring.

Diamond: Thank you Melissa. It was an honor speaking with you.
