For a while now Sonny Siaki has been fighting to raise funds to help save the life of his older brother Bernard.
Less than two years ago, Bernard was diagnosed with Renal Failure, a rare condition where one kidney completely shuts down and the other functions below normal capacity. In 2007, Bernardâ<80><99>s one functioning kidney decreased to just 10% of normal capacity. As a result, he currently undergoes four hours of dialysis treatments three times a week and has an extremely restricted diet. Bernardâ<80><99>s health is rapidly declining. He endures extreme discomfort and fatigue every day, but continues to work full time to pay for ever-increasing medical bills. Today, he is on the National Kidney Transplant Registry and family members are being screened for a possible donor match.
Sonny Siaki released this update yesterday:
On behalf of the Siaki-Tootoo family, I want to thank the people who made a contribution, helped out with the golf tournament, all company supporters who donated food, drinks, items, etc., the NFL, NBA, pro baseball and pro wrestlers that sent autographed sports memorabilia, and everyone else who was involved in the Save Bernard Siaki effort.
We’ve raised close $30,000 and had over 34,000 visitors to the site. When you get a chance, please check out the new blog entries and pictures from the golf tournament. We have a long way to go so keep us in your prayers.
Thanks again and God Bless,
All the best, Sonny Siaki
