Iranian media is denouncing the film the Wrestler, as they object to the portrayal of an Iranian character dubbed the Ayatollah, played by Ernest â<80>~the Catâ<80><99> Miller. In the Darren Aronofsky film, Mickey Rourkeâ<80><99>s character, Randy â<80>~the Ramâ<80><99> Robinson, has a match sequence with the Ayatollah, where he grabs the Iranian flag, snaps the pole in half, and tosses the remnants to the crowd.

GCW Tag Team Title Match: Orion Bishop & Murder One (c) vs. The Southside Trash. A new champion will be crowned in the final match of the GCW Interstate Title Tournament: Shaun Banks vs. Kareem Abdul Jamar. GCW owner Diane Hewes has requested every employee of Great Entertainment be in attendance, as she addresses the fans with a major announcement. Bell time is 7:30pm.

United States Wrestling Organization / ATL Wrestling results from December 13 in Nashville, TN, at the Stadium Inn with only 22 in attendance: Damien Payne beat Mexican Dragon, Saint beat J.D. Fluffy, Psycho Medic beat Kevin Dunn by DQ when Chris Norte attacked Medic, Michael Jablonski & Anthony Wayne beat Chris Norte & Kevin Dunn when Jablonski pinned Dunn, and Steven Green beat Damien Payne.

Over 100 people were in attendance at the December 13 New Heights Wrestling event in Florala, AL, which saw some interesting events happen around their heavyweight championship. Results: J.T. Angel w/NHW Commissioner Dandy Jack, defeated DJ Durst. “Busty” Becki Kennedy defeated Chief Little Bear. David Prime defeated BTY. Commissioner Dandy Jack stripped Mr. Fantasy of the NHW heavyweight championship, stating that this is the second event in a row that Fantasy wasn’t at an event. Gutter, Lane Smart & Dunham defeated Alexander York, DJ Pringle & Street Bandit by DQ after Pringle used an illegal object on Dunham. After the match, York, Pringle, and Bandit attacked Smart, Gutter, and Dunham. BTY came down for the save with a chair, and attacked Smart, Gutter, and Dunham. Commissioner Jack came out and named BTY the new heavyweight champion. For the NHW heavyweight championship, “Pretty Boy” Donnie B defeated BTY to become the new champion thanks to outside interference from Gutter and Lane Smart. In a TLC match for the cruiserweight championship, Milo defeated Chris Tighe to retain. Next event will be on January 10 at the National Guard Armory in Florala.

A crowd of 250 people was at the Graybell Auction in Danielsville, GA, for Savannah Valley Wrestling‘s â<80><9c>Santaâ<80><99>s Slayâ<80> that took place on December 13. Results: Derek Ryze defeated T.J. Mack to become the #1 contender for the Reaction championship. For the tag championship, Old School defeated Lance Christopher & Billy Starr to retain. In a hardcore match, Jackill defeated Bam Bam Bradshaw. Darkside defeated Brandon Moss. In a match for the Reaction championship, Kid Cassanova defeated Derek Ryze to retain the championship. In an AWA Light heavyweight championship match, Kirby Mack defeated Ballenger to retain. In the Valley Massacre match, Shane Bell’s team defeated Adam Bell’s team.

Results: Bruce Santee defeated Roderick Strong. “Classic” Scott Davis defeated “Mr. 630” Jerrelle Clark. Chasyn Rance defeated C.J. O’Doyle. Francisco Ciatso w/Ron Niemi defeated Nooie Lee. Santee, Davis, Rance, and Ciatso all advanced in the PWR championship tournament. The Heartbreak Express w/Amy Vitale, Lou the Fixer, Snow, & Vic Slowhand defeated the Loggers.
