World Wrestling Entertainment’s SmackDown crew will be in Omaha, NE, at the Qwest Center, tonight. Two episodes of SmackDown will be taped.

The lineup for tonight’s ECW broadcast on Sci-Fi, from WWE, is as follows: Paul Burchill & Katie Lea versus D.J. Gabriel & Alicia Fox; and Matt Hardy defends the WWE ECW Heavyweight Title against Jack Swagger. Also, the Boogeyman is in action and Tommy Dreamer makes a big announcement. Click here for spoilers.

WWE results from the RAW broadcast at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, IA, on January 12: Rey Mysterio over the Miz; William Regal over CM Punk by disqualification to retain the WWE Inter-Continental Heavyweight Title; Randy Orton over Kane; and Shawn Michaels over John Cena.

Total Nonstop Action will be taping for iMPACT! at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL, tonight.

There was a meeting today of the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission. No votes were held on new regulations, but a sub-committee is being assembled to determine if new regulations are even necessary. As a reminder, Andy Foster of the GAEC will be contacting all promoters who were licensed in 2008 to remind them that, per the current laws, all wrestling promoters who run shows in Georgia must renew for 2009.

NWA Prime Time promoter has cancelled the planned January 16 event due to extremely cold forecasted weather and lack of adequate heating at the Prime Time Arena. Promoter Billy Roper says they hope to run the same card when they return on January 23.

New Heights Wrestling was in Florala, AL, on January 10. Results: "The Definition of Technician" Chris Tighe defeated "Airman" T.A. Jones, Dynamite Doug, Pure Doug Pitt, "Chocolate Boy Wonder" Marcus Gibbs, and Milo in a 6-man Lucha rules elimination match to become the new cruiserweight champion. "The Human Wrecking Machine" Dunham defeated "Aristocratic Assassin" Alexander York w/BTY, DJ Pringle & Street Bandit. Street Bandit defeated Mr. Personality. BTY & DJ Pringle w/Alexander York defeated "Florala’s Hometown Boy" Gutter & "Super Nerd" Lane Smart. "Pretty Boy" Donnie B. defeated "Master of the Spinebuster" David Prime to retain the NHW championship. Donnie B, Marcus Gibbs, Dunham, Gutter & Lane Smart defeated David Prime, BTY, DJ Pringle, Alexander York & Street Bandit in an impromptu 10-man tag match.

NHW will be hosting the "Battle for the Gulf Coast" on February 14 at the Old National Guard Armory in Florala, AL. Promotions from TX, LA, MS, NC, PA, and MD, are announced to be represented, with NHW representing AL and FL. The NHW representatives announced are "Scarface" Terry Ryker, Milo, and the cruiserweight champion, "Definition of Technician" Chris Tighe. In addition to the tournament, a 10 man-elimination match was announced. NHW champion, "Pretty Boy" Donnie B, "Human Wrecking Machine" Dunham, "Chocolate Boy Wonder" Marcus Gibbs, "Florala’s Hometown Boy" Gutter & "Super Nerd" Lane Smart vs. "Master of the Spinebuster" David Prime, "BTY" Colby Godwin, "Future Legend" DJ Pringle, "Aristocratic Assassin" Alexander York & Street Bandit. Tickets are $7, and kids 6 and under get in for free. Doors open at 6:00 & bell time is at 7:00.

Sean Davis personally reported on the Florida Indies website that he and his tag team partner Phil of the Heartbreak Express have been fired from Florida-based Pro Wrestling Fusion. Sean tells his side of the story here. Later in the thread Sean posted the rebuttal of Joey Machete, promoter for Pro Wrestling Fusion.

PWF was in Davie, FL, on January 9. Results: Craig Classic defeated Michael Tobin. Christopher Gray defeated Jon Davis. Steve Madison defeated C.J. O’Doyle. Tommy Taylor defeated Bruce Santee. The Heartbreak Express defeated Max Stardom & Jerrelle Clark. The Sheik defeated Chris Jones.

PWF was in Ft. Pierce, FL, on January 10. Results: Christopher Gray defeated Jerrelle Clark. Tommy Taylor defeated Brad Attitude. Michael Tobin defeated Chris Jones, thanks to outside interference by Prince Iaukea. Iaukea defeated Craig Classic by DQ when Chris Jones attacked Iaukea. Blunt Force Trauma became the first PWF tag champions by defeating the Heartbreak Express. Steven Madison defeated Bruiser Bradley for the right to face the Sheik in a steel cage match on February 7.

Global Championship Wrestling will be at the Homestead Community Center in Palmerdale, AL, on January 17. Matches to be announced. Bell time is at 7:30.

Rampage Pro Wrestling will be Johnny G’s Fun Center in Warner Robins, GA, on January 18, as they continue both their tag team and hotties title tournaments. Advertised: A.J. Steele & J-Rod vs. Johnny Swinger & Sal Rinauro. Chip Day & Christian Thor vs. Johnny Slaughter & Scottie Blaze. Melissa Coates vs. Bambi. Tickets are $5. Bell time is at 4:00. AWA Carolinas will be running their first event on January 30 at the HVW Arena, at 3515 Asheville Highway, in Hendersonville, NC. After negotiating terms with the AWA Board of Directors, Thomas Simpson is bringing in AWA Heavyweight Champion Ricky Landell for a title defense against "Irish Assassin" Jason Blackman, representing Savannah Valley Wrestling. Also advertised: former AWA World Tag Team Champions, Team Macktion (Krazy K and T.J. Mack), "The Heartless Derek Ryze, Chrisit Whiplash, Brice Anthony, Neil Nitro, Tim "The Machine" Thomas, Chrisifix, "The Manscout" Jake Manning, and the first round of the WSL Trios Tournament. Ryan O’Reilly and Krissy Vaine, who were originally booked for this show, will be appearing at a later date. Bell time at 7:30.

Culture Shock Wrestling will be at the Community Center in Mossy Head, FL, on January 24 for "Hardcore New Year". Advertised: In a four corners, fans bring the weapons match for the CSW championship, Victor Cru defends vs. Cameron Frost, David Prime, DJ Durst, Lane Smart, and Jon Ryker. "BTY" Colby Godwin vs. Aaron Idol. Dark Personality defends the US championship against Bruce Marshall. Mike Metal vs. T.A. Jones. Billy Rayz vs. Scotty Rayz. J.T. Angel, Extreme G & Marcus Gibbs vs. Short Bandit, Dynamite Doug & the Confederate Kid. Tickets are $6, and kids 6 and under get in for free. Doors open at 7:00 and bell time is at 8:00.
