Dave Meltzer is reporting that Verne Gagne, 82, and Helmut Gutmann, 97, had some sort of incident at a Bloomington, MN, facility that cares for patients suffering from dementia and Altzheimers on January 26. Apparently Gagne threw Gutmann down for reasons no one can explain, and Gutmann had to be hospitalized. He was later moved to a hospice and died. The Gutmann family does not seem to be blaming Gagne, acknowledging that he apparently had no idea what he had done. It does not appear charges are being filed by any party, and no blame has been attributed directly to the incident causing Gutmann’s death. It was also reported that Gagne had been removed from the facility due to a previous unrelated incident, but had been allowed to return. Since the confrontation with Gutmann, Gagne has once again been kicked out, leaving the Gagne family to look elsewhere for ways to care for Gagne, whose health and mental capacities have been diminishing significantly over the last few years.
