World Wrestling Entertainment’s SmackDown crew will be at the Reed Arena in College Station, TX, tonight. Advertised: Triple H defends the WWE Heavyweight Title against the Big Show; and Edge defends the WWE World Heavyweight Title against Jeff Hardy. Also on the bill: Matt Hardy, Carlito, the Great Khali, MVP, Shelton Benjamin, and Chavo Guerrero, Jr. Bell time is 7:30 PM.

The lineup for tonight’s SmackDown broadcast on MyNetwork TV, from WWE, is as follows: Kofi Kingston versus Edge; John Morrison & the Miz defend the WWE World Tag Team Title against Carlito & Primo Colon; Shelton Benjamin & Chavo Guerrero, Jr., versus R-Truth & MVP; the Hardys confront one another; Michelle McCool & Maryse versus Melina & Maria; Brian Kendrick versus Finlay in a qualifier for a spot in WrestleMania’s Money-in-the-Bank match; and Vladimir Kozlov versus the Undertaker.

Tickets for the following WWE events go on sale Saturday: May 9, at the Chevrolet Centre in Youngstown, OH; May 23, at the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, NM; and September 27, at the Bercy in Paris, France.

WWE has announced the following events: June 2, SmackDown/ECW at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, TN; June 9, SmackDown/ECW at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, MS; and July 18, SmackDown/ECW at the Giant Center in Hershey, PA. Tickets for Biloxi and Hershey go on sale April 11, while Memphis tickets become available on April 18.

Total Nonstop Action will be at the Paroquet Springs Center in Shepherdsville, KY, tonight. Advertised: Kurt Angle versus Samoa Joe; Booker T versus Rhino; Beer Money defends the TNA World Tag Team Title against Jay Lethal & Consequences Creed; and Matt Morgan versus Abyss. Also on the bill: Jim Cornette, Brutus Magnus, Taylor Wilde, Roxxi Laveaux, Eric Young, Shane Sewell, Shark Boy, Sojourner Bolt, and No Limit. Bell time is 7:30 PM.

TNA has announced the following events: April 30, at the Knoxville Coliseum in Knoxville, TN; May 1, at the Agriculture & Exposition Center in Corbin, KY; May 2, at the Big Sandy Arena in Huntington, WV; and May 3, at the Eastern Kentucky Expo Center in Pikeville, KY. Tickets for all events go on sale March 20.

Ring of Honor will be at the Gateway Center in Collinsville, IL, tonight. Matches announced: "the Son of Old School" Billy Wayne & "the Future Legend" DJ Pringle vs. Street Bandit & Cowboy Ray. "Evil" Short Bandit vs. Tiny Tiswell in a TLC Match. DSPW was in Brewton, AL, on March 7. Results: Cowboy Ray won a Battle Royal to win the vacant DSPW Florida Heavyweight championship. Mike Metal & Victor Cru defeated Stone & Roxas Payne. Johnny Rebel defeated Evergreen McQueen to become the #1 contender to the heavyweight championship. Street Bandit & Cowboy Ray defeated "the Son of Old School" Billy Wayne & "the Future Legend" DJ Pringle. "Mr. Electricity" Jerry Reiner vs. Cruze ended in a time limit draw. "DDG" Lee Manning vs. "Evil" Short Bandit was declared a no contest when Bandit hit Manning with a chair and there was also an ambush by Cowboy Ray & Tiny Tiswell on Bandit. The Redneck Mafia defeated Team Sexy in a non title match

Champions with Attitudes will be at the Jamil Temple in Columbia, SC, tonight. The doors will open at 6:00 PM, with matches getting underway at 7:30. Tickets are $20 for ringside, $15 for floor seats, and $10 for bleacher seating. Children 3 and under get in free of charge.

Florida Championship Wrestling will be at the Lake County Fairgrounds Expo Hall in Eustis, FL, tonight. Tickets are $20 for reserved ringside, $12 general admission, and $8 for kids.

FCW was in Carrollton, GA, on March 6. Results: Jaebo & Bulldog Raines defeated Kaiden Knight & Ron Stalker. Big Nasty defeated Jake Diamond. Frankie Valentine defeated Doug Somers by DQ. Bobby Moore & Ron Stalker were the last two participants in a battle royal. They won the right to face off for the US championship. Bobby Moore, w/Amy Morgane, defeated Ron Stalker to win the US championship.

Pro Wrestling Eklipse will be at Jo Bob’s Elite Fight Club in Zephyrhills, FL, tonight. Tickets are $5. Bell time is at 8:00.

Prosecutors have announced that there will be no criminal charges against Verne Gagne for the death of Helmut Guttman.

Dwayne ‘the Rock’ Johnson will appear on tonight’s Jimmy Kimmel Live. Johnson’s “Race to Witch Mountain” opens tonight. He has expressed a desire to work on a Boradway musical next.

Steve Austin has a part in “the Expendables”, which stars Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, Eric Roberts, Jet Li, Charisma Carpenter, and Randy Couture. The film is in pre-production and is set to begin filming March 28, with a tentative release sometime in 2010. Also, the strong comeback for Rourke continues, as he has also signed to play Whiplash in “Iron Man II”. Also in the sequel are Robert Downey, Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell, and Samuel L. Jackson. Scheduled to start filming in April, a tentative release date of May 2010.

Great Championship Wrestling results from the Gr8 Sk8 Plex in Phenix City, AL, on March 12: Frankie Valentine beat Kyle Matthews in 7:13. Tex Monroe beat Dany Only and Bobby Moore (with Princeton Gainey) in a triple threat match (8:20). John Bogie & Rob Adonis (with JP Money) beat Midnight Studds (Bobby Sanford & JT Flash (with Princeton Gainey III) in 8:43. J-Rod beat Sal Rinauro via DQ in 16:39 in a contender’s match for the GCW Heavyweight Title. Merchants of Death (Orion Bishop & Murder One with Wicked Nemesis) beat Hot Like Lava (Cru Jones & Shaun Banks with Quentin Michaels) to win the GCW Tag Team Championship in 21:08. Rampage Pro Wrestling was at Johnny G’s Fun Center in Warner Robins, GA, on March 8 for a television taping. Dark matches: Travis Sawyer defeated Big Bank Barfield. Mr. Jones defeated Demarco Knight. TV Taping: S&S Express defeated Rob Adonis & Kyle Matthews, w/Charlie Cash. Originally the next match was supposed to be Derringer vs. Chip Day, but Murder 1 came out and demanded to face RPW champion Micah Taylor. Day came out for the match with Derringer and Murder attacked Day, taking him out of the match. Commissioner Nick Patrick said that Derringer would not get a cheap win and said that there was another wrestler ready to go. "The “200 lb. Genetic Wonder" Colt Derringer defeated Chris Jacobs. Micah Taylor defeated Cru Jones. The rules of the match were that Jones & Taylor were to collect as many pinfalls as possible until one of them couldn’t answer the referee’s 10-count. In a tarred & feathered match, Dr. Gayton & J-Rod defeated Frankie Valentine & Sal Rinauro, w/Charle Cash. Before Valentine & Rinauro was to get tarred & feathered, Cru Jones ran down and attacked Gayton. Cash was going to tar & feather Gayton, but Gayton knocked the tar & feathers out of Cash’s hands and Cash got tarred & feathered. Gayton then went looking for Jones.

The All-Star Wrestling Network will be at the AWN Wrestleplex in Ft. Valley, GA, on March 14. Advertised: "Golden Boy" Chick Donovan vs. AWN CEO Mike Money, w/Money, Inc. Also advertised: AWN Heavyweight champion Paul Warfield, Slaughter Pit, Ash, Damenchia, Douglas McGuinness, Sin City Mafia, Dyce, and Scotty Carmichael. Tickets are $5. Bell time is at 8:00.

WWA4 results from the WWA4 School in Atlanta, GA, on March 11: Jimmy the Kid & the Chosen over Rick King & Angel Dragoff; All Mighty Minnie over Amy Morgane by disqualification; Will Platinum over Big Nasty; Jake Diamond, Mike Black & Kaiden Knight over Jon Davis, Eric Mayne & Jaebo; and a match featuring Rick King and Jon Davis ended in a no contest.

MARCH 13, 1965 (SATURDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – ATLANTA MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM [P] (Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Gino Brito defeated Pancho Villa > Red Roberts defeated the Mighty Jumbo > Jesse James defeated Bob Dalton > Freddie Blassie defeated Tony Marino by disqualification > Georgia Heavyweight Title Match: Mario Galento* defeated Tony Nero > Southern Tag Team Title Match: Buddy Fuller & Jesse James defeated the Mysterious Medics* to win title / Notes: Jesse James substituted for Sputnik Monroe to team with Buddy Fuller in the match with the Mysterious Medics. The Medics had been the reigning Southern Tag Team Champions since they defeated Joe Scarpa & Tony Marino in a tournament final on February 5, 1965, in Atlanta. Mario Galento had been the reigning Georgia Heavyweight Champion since he defeated Sputnik Monroe on November 13, 1964, in Atlanta. Paul Jones reported that he had purchased the old Sports Arena, and would be renovating it for future events, including moving the ticket office to that location soon. He was also contemplating moving the television program there to accommodate a larger crowd. It was announced that Tom Bradley and the Corsicans would be wrestling in Atlanta soon.

MARCH 13, 1970 (FRIDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – ATLANTA MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM [P] (Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Women’s Match: the Black Venus versus the Congo Cat > Ray Gunkel defeated Alex Perez > Homer O’Dell & Buddy Colt defeated Leo Garibaldi & El Mongol > Georgia Heavyweight Title Tournament: Assassin #1 defeated Alberto Torres; Paul DeMarco defeated Les Wolff; Buddy Fuller defeated Chris Markoff; Joe Scarpa defeated Nick Bockwinkel by disqualification; Scarpa defeated Fuller by coin toss; Assassin #1 defeated DeMarco; Assassin #1 defeated Scarpa to win title / Notes: The Black Venus and the Congo Cat were scheduled to wrestle each other, but no results were reported after the card. Homer O’Dell managed Buddy Colt. The tournament was to determine was champion for the title that had been vacated on February 28, 1970, due to injuries to Doug Gilbert, and began on March 6, 1970. In a strange twist during the match between Joe Scarpa and Assassin #1, Scarpa had applied the sleeper on his opponent, but Assassin #1 ended up on top of Scarpa and the referee counted Scarpa’s shoulders down. Charlie Harben and Leo Garibaldi were credited as being referees for this card. The program for this card featured a photo of Doug Gilbert in a neck brace.
