As frequently happens new viewers sampled the show in the second hour (at 10PM when audiences transition from one show to another) which lead to the 5th quarter hour reaching a strong 1.41, but the audience dropped off thereafter ending with close to the audience the program reached in the 1st quarter hour.
For the 24 week period from Jan 5 – June 19, 2009 TNA iMPACT averaged a 1.208 rating reaching an average of 1,171,760 HHs in Spike TV’s "universe". (97 million HH) (HH = Households)
For the ame 24 week period ECW on Sci-Fi averaged a 1.227 rating reaching and average of 1,141,110 HH in Sci Fi’s universe (93 million HHs)
So ECW is still slightly ahead in rating average but by only a .019 difference, but trails iMPACT by an average of 30,650 HHs due to the difference in audience reach of the two cable networks.
