Scott Barry did a solo stand up opening at ringside. He announced the main event: Shawn Shultz & Mike Posey vs. Steve-0 & Matt Boyce. Jason James wasn’t there for reasons that would soon become apparent. Like most everything about this show, it was an improvement over last week. Barry looked way more comfortable.
They cut to the ring where Tony Lucassio introduced Shultz as the greatest wrestler in the world. Shultz went off on the NWA for not handing him the Mid-America title (because nobody in NWA ME was close to his level) and a world title shot. The part about being the greatest is delusional, but he may very well be the most entitled wrestler on the planet, and that’s saying something.
“Between the Ropes” with Jason James joined by Shultz and Lucassio. This was great. Lucassio called Rudy Charles a reject ref from another organization. Lucassio compared what the NWA had done to Shultz, to Shultz said he didn’t need pyrotechics, a big stage, a Titantron or a billionaire paying his paychecks to know that he was the greatest. Shultz said the NWA was scared and his next step was to shove it down their throats. They dissed NWA World Heavyweight Champion Blue Demon. “All they got to do is send him down to
Lucassio and Shultz brought out Travis Sawyer as the muscle – the third member of Project Prominence. Lucassio put Travis over as the second generation stud and son of NWA legend, Buzz Sawyer. Sawyer spoke well and had a good tag line.
(1) Teddy Tender destroyed Baronas Brothers in 2:06. The wig came off and Teddy went on a rampage. Tender left them both laying with TKOs. Lani Kealoha made the save.
Mike Posey approached Project Prominence about tonight’s tag match. They called him Mike Chiota, Charles Robinson and Jack Doan. Posey said he was better than those guys. Shultz said it didn’t need to be a tag match. Sawyer told Posey to prove himself for once and do something about Boyce. Funny segment.
Boyce had a conversation with O. Boyce said it was time to prove themselves. O said it they need to show why they were the champs. Not a whole lot of energy. Pretty generic stuff.
