Raw Ladder: After Weeks Of Going Up, He Finally Came Down

DOWN A STEP
Overall Show

I think a lot of people expected the worst going into last night’s show with the reports of a "Little People’s Court" topped with Verne Troyer as the guest host.  I have to say though that last night’s show wasn’t near as bad as it could have been and overall, I didn’t think it was that bad at all.

There wasn’t as much wrestling as I would have liked, but they continued to build toward the TLC pay per view in a decent fashion.  It would have been hard for them to continue on the path they’ve been going down the last few weeks and at some point, I think everyone knew it would slow down.  Last night did that, but not as much as it could have.

Sheamus and John Cena are doing all they can to get energy behind their match.  The only problem is that right now, it doesn’t matter what they do.  The pay per view match is going to be the true tell-tale sign of whether Sheamus is going anywhere or not.  My personal opinion is that unless he gets the "W" at the event – which is more than highly unlikely – he’s going to lose this momentum shortly afterward.

The key to me right now is the development of D-X/JeriShow because that’s the true main event of this pay per view, in my opinion.  Although it could make the pay per view better, I’m not sure it has the legs to make it a great pay per view.  In fact, I doubt it.  The sad thing about last night was Hunter making reference to the tag team titles and the fact that no one cares about Show and Jericho as Champions.  That may be the sad reality, but it sure doesn’t make the ppv match mean much when it’s for the championships.

Either way, last night could have been much worse and it wasn’t bad.  It just wasn’t as good as some of the recent Raw’s have been.
