DOWN A STEP
Overall Show
I wasn’t overly disappointed in last night’s show, but I’m afraid they didn’t do enough to spark interest in this Sunday’s pay per view with the exception of Cena/Sheamus. They did a very good job of putting Sheamus over one last time. However, Kofi and Orton didn’t have the fire and intensity behind it we’re used to and I don’t think JeriShow/D-X has had much fire at all heading into their match. Michaels and Hunter are doing lame comedy bits and then turning around and attempting to be serious, all in the same show. The fact they feel the need to joke about the poor writing of the backstage skits doesn’t excuse the fact they’re right.
I originally felt the tag team match between D-X and JeriShow was going to be the reason to buy this pay per view and I’m not sure that’s the case anymore. At least, not for the hardcore fans. If you’re a fan wanting to see change within the WWE, the reason you’re buying this pay per view is to see the outcomes of the Orton/Kingston and the Cena/Sheamus match. If Kingston and Sheamus both lose, we’re back to where we started. If one of both win (especially Sheamus), the WWE must be serious about their recent efforts to get new talent over.
I plan on doing an audio hotline following the pay per view this Sunday, so look out for that.
