Tribute to the Troops 2009 results

WWE Superstars traveled to the heart of the Middle East to entertain our U.S. troops in the seventh annual Tribute to the Troops celebration. Amid showing full support for the U.S. servicemen, several of the best ring warriors battled it out in three exhilarating matches.

John Cena def. Chris Jericho
Some would describe the scene as a profound showing of reverence from our nation’s heroes to one of WWE’s premier ring warriors. But to John Cena, it was really the other way around.

While Cena received praise from the U.S. troops prior to his main event bout against Chris Jericho, the honorable Superstar made sure to salute back and show his immense admiration for their bravery in the Middle East.

Either way, Cena was motivated to destroy his opponent at Tribute to the Troops. The former WWE Champion sealed an impressive victory over Jericho with an emphatic Attitude Adjustment to close the show.

U.S. Champion The Miz def. John Morrison
U.S. Champion The Miz and John Morrison know a great deal about each other perhaps more than any other pair of foes in WWE. Formerly the self-proclaimed “Greatest Tag Team of the 21st Century,” the two arrogant Superstars continue to split hairs over who was the “better” member of “The Dirt Sheet” duo.
