Funk & Guerrero Remember The Late Jack Brisco

As the world of professional wrestling gets ready to say goodbye to one of the greatest competitors to ever step inside a squared circle, "Your Home Of Wrestling Radio" takes a look back at the life & legacy of former NWA World Heavyweight Champion & member of the WWE Hall Of Fame/Pro Wrestling Hall Of Fame, Jack Brisco." Two of Brisco’s closest friends & colleagues in the industry, Dory Funk, Jr. & Chavo "Classic" Guerrero joined Monday Night Mayhem’s eight-year anniversary, and were welcomed by The Big Mosh, Blade, "The Chairman Of The Board" Todd Vincent, & Chaz for this special MNM tribute. Both legends will be a part of Brisco’s memorial service (being held on Thursday afternoon in Tampa, FL).

Chavo wished to take The Mayhem’s airwaves to remember his fallen brother. "Jack had so much class. I’m sure gonna’ be there. We are gonna’ get together and pay our respects to great champion, a great friend, a great competitor, & a great human being which was Jack Brisco. There’s not much too say about Jack…just a class act. Hell of a amateur wrestler & an NCAA Champion at 191 pounds. I remember when I was at UTEP…I used to study him because he never got taken down."

Dory is in a select class with Jack, as both superstars are members of the WWE Hall Of Fame & former NWA World Heavyweight Champions. Funk was synonymous with Brisco, as the two of them had some of the best technical matches in the history of professional wrestling. Dory has strong, fond, & vivid memories of working with Jack & what he gave to the industry as a whole. "It’s with mixed emotion that I’m going down to the Jack Brisco Memorial down in Tampa. I know I’m gonna’ see some people I haven’t seen in a long time, but it was very sad moment when I found out Jack Brisco had passed away. He brought so much to professional wrestling, and I have to repeat what Chavo said…he was a class act. And he brought competition to professional wrestling. He was a great amateur, and he mixed that style of amateur & pro wrestling, and it wound up being an ideal opponent for me as the NWA World Champion: both with Jack as challenger & as champion. He was a tremendous athlete and really someone we should be proud of (for what he accomplished in his career)."
