TNA House Show Results (3/18): Hattiesburg, Miss.

5. Kevin Nash and Eric Young defeat Beer Money in about 18 minutes. Beer Money were the first entrants. They received a nice pop as their characters are easily connected with Mississippi. James Storm grabbed the mic and cuts a heel promo blasting Mississippi. Immediate heat. Nash and Young come out to roaring pops. Nash is really over!!! Comedy in the beginning of the match. Storm crawled to his corner and hugged Roode around his waist, thus putting his face in Roode’s crotch.

Storm discovered that Roode had a sock in his tights. The sock was thrown into the crowd. This drew immediate heat in conservative Mississippi and incited a "Homo" chant that lasts the rest of the match. In the closing sequence, Nash hit Storm with a chokeslam and EY followed with a beautiful elbow drop from the top rope. Nash hit Roode with the Jackknife and got the pin. Solid match. Great tag action from Beer Money, and Nash looked better than he has in months.

6. AJ Styles defeated The Black Pope D’Angelo Dinero in about 20 minutes. Dinero entered first to an average pop but nothing major. I really expected and wished for a promo, but he didn’t grab the mic. AJ came out to a big pop. He wore classic Phenomenal attire; no Nature Boy robe. I guess that’s only for TV. He grabbed a mic and drew heat. Good match as would be expected from these two. Pope had Styles set for Elijah Express when Desmond Wolfe came to the ring to distract. AJ took advantage and hits Styles Clash for the pin. They double teamed Pope until Jarrett came out for the big save.

The heels retreated. Pope went to the merch stand to sign autographs. Jarrett remained in the ring to take photos for $20. I almost paid the money just to enter the ring and ask Jarrett if Karen was backstage. I spotted D-Lo Brown a few times in the back of the arena. Several other face wrestlers came around the arena and signed autographs.

Notes: Overall, a very fun show. The crowd was much hotter than previous shows I have attended. As mentioned, it didn’t seem to be a "smart" or "internet" audience which made the event really fun. I really never understood the argument that TNA should leave Orlando, but after tonight, I really think that could be a big move!!!! If you want a fan friendly experience where you are close to the talent, TNA house shows are the ticket!
