Detailed Update On Bobby Lashley’s MMA Return On 8/21

Former WWE and TNA Wrestling star-turned MMA heavyweight contender Bobby Lashley’s fighting return will be announced by Strikeforce during a media conference in Houston next Tuesday, July 13th.

It will be revealed during the conference that Lashley will return to action in the cage after a brief hiatus due to injury at the August 21st Strikeforce event at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. Lashley will be part of a stacked card scheduled to feature two world title fights that will air live on the Showtime network.

Lashley’s last fight was a TKO victory over Ultimate Fighter 10 veteran and former UFC heavyweight prospect Wes "The Project" Sims back in January of this year. That first round stoppage for Lashley increased his perfect pro-MMA record to 5-0, with four of the five victories coming by KO, TKO or submission – only one going the distance.

Headlining the 8/21 card will be Strikeforce light heavyweight champion "King" Mohammed Lawal (aka King Mo) making the first defense of his newly won title as he tests his skills against the highly regarded Rafael Feijao.

The other championship fight on the night will be for the vacant Strikeforce middleweight title. The match will feature top contenders Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza vs. Tim Kennedy for the belt that was vacated by former champion Jake Shields, who successfully defended the strap against MMA legend Dan Henderson before letting his contract expire to move on to greener pastures in the UFC.
