WrestleZone reader Enrique De La Riva sent along the following detailed off-air report from last night’s double-Raw taping:
Unfortunately my notes didn’t save nor did the 1st draft of this email, so here goes:
One note is during every break a couple of fans were just bashing Cole. Every break was a EXTREMELY loud “You Suck Cole” “We Want Jr” or simple “JR” chants. At one point Cole was even fist pumping to the “JR” chants. At one point a “Jerry” chant started and King was trying to get people to cheer Cole by pointing at him and whooping up the crowd which lead to the crowd booing. King gave Cole a pat on the back.
Next Weeks Show opens with Sheamus in the ring stating american children are spoiled with him going to ringside lambasting children along the way. He gets back into the ring saying that those children are not unlike another spoiled child in the WWE, the likes of one Randy Orton and pleads to the GM to not be like the parents of those children & not give of to the whining & complaining of Orton, Que the GM email, flickering lights. The GM says he agrees with Sheamus & proved he is indeed a worthy champion so he has calls for some stagehands to bring out a throne & annouces he has a series of matches set up & Sheamus will then decide the new #1 contender for his title match at Night Of Champions.
The first match Edge vs. R-Truth. Some good back & forth action between them & similar reversals between the two. Edge wins after a spear. After the match he asks for a microphone, addressing Sheamus saying he respects the fact he has beat he has beaten but until he beats a 9 time champion, he really hasn’t beat anyone & should prove he really is a worthy champion by facing Edge at Night of Champions.
Great Khali vs. Chris Jericho. Jericho had a lot of offence & started working one of Khali’s legs but most of his signature moves were stopped by Khali, like a earlier Walls attempt was thrwated by Khali’s strength followed by a Codebreaker attempt reversed to. Finish came when Jericho finally turns Khali into the Walls of Jericho. Jericho gets a mic & says why pick anyone else when he can pick the man who just made a giant submit, the 1st ever undisputed champion, and the best at what they do while standing on the middle rope staring at Sheamus. He asks if Sheamus can hear what he is saying to him meanwhile Khali gets up and hits the brainchop with Jericho tumbling off the ropes.
