As we exclusively reported yesterday, Vince McMahon was said to be in rare form during WrestleMania this past weekend and subsequently had what sources claimed to be a more than usual amount of re-writes to both WrestleMania and Raw the next night.
In an update to our story, FWOnline.com is reporting that Vince McMahon was said to be "out of his mind" this past weekend, and as a result many last minute changes were made to the WrestleMania card, as in the change of match order and the dumping of Sheamus/Bryan, but that even more revisions were made to the Raw script.
Initially, the plan was to have The Undertaker face Triple H in a rematch at SummerSlam, and the original plan was also to have The Undertaker face John Cena at WrestleMania 28, but those plans changed quickly when The Rock agreed to face Cena at WrestleMania 28. It’s being reported that the decision to have The Rock face Cena at WM28 was not finalized until late Monday afternoon, but even prior to that, Vince had already begun making many revisions to the Raw script. All of these massive rewrites and revisions have the WWE creative team extremely burnt out, as we exclusively reported yesterday.
Many senior staffers in WWE were under the impression that next year’s WrestleMania from Miami would be built around The Rock, even if he didn’t commit to wrestle. There has been talk of The Rock being inducted into the Hall of Fame next year, but there has been no word on whether or not his decision to wrestle at the PPV has affected those plans.
