CM Punk Makes Shocking Remark About Roman Reigns’ Late Father on WWE RAW

The road to WrestleMania 42 got very personal on the March 2, 2026, episode of RAW in Indianapolis. World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk shocked everyone when he made a bold comment about his opponent, Roman Reigns’ late father, WWE Hall of Famer Sika Anoa’i.

WrestleMania season can make any WWE Superstar desperate, and sometimes, some of them fail to hide their dark side. Something similar seemed to happen with the WWE World Heavyweight Champion this week. His rivalry with Reigns was already personal due to their past differences. This time, he just took it to another level.

CM Punk Escalates Rivalry With Roman Reigns on RAW

With the road to WrestleMania beginning, CM Punk and Roman Reigns faced off in the main event segment of RAW. Reigns had just entered the ring and told the crowd to “acknowledge” him. Just then, Punk interrupted his speech and made his entrance.

The WWE World Heavyweight Champion began by mocking Reigns for his part-time schedule. He sarcastically said that the Tribal Chief could have stayed home and just tweeted if all he wanted was the crowd to acknowledge him.

But Reigns was ready.

He called Punk by his real name and said the champion is too sensitive and has “thin skin.” In the tweet, Reigns said that he felt Punk looked “tired” in his Elimination Chamber match and told him to “enjoy this final month of relevancy.”

CM Punk, however, said that he doesn’t get upset about things people say about him on podcasts. He said that it’s a good thing he got “bags” under his eyes, as he would be “carrying” Reigns’ “bullsh*t” for seven weeks until WrestleMania 42.

Things started to heat up when Punk reminded the Royal Rumble winner that The Shield debuted in Indianapolis. Punk claimed he was the reason they came to WWE, the group that helped make Reigns a superstar. Reigns shut that down by saying Punk brought the “other two.”

Roman Reigns said Punk only returned to “entertain the 30-and 40-year-old virgins who live with their mom and dad” and maybe sell tickets in Chicago. He added that Punk was never meant to lead the company again because being champion takes responsibility, a trait he believes Punk doesn’t have.

He didn’t stop there. Reigns accused Punk of acting happy in public while secretly complaining backstage. Then he delivered a harsh insult, “You’re not CM Punk, you’re just a punk a** b*tch to me.”

Reigns also said he would put Punk on a “John Cena retirement tour,” help him make as much money as possible, and then send him to NXT to train younger talent, only to beat them too.

But Punk didn’t stop there.

He called out Reigns for saying “we,” reminding him that he no longer has his Wiseman Paul Heyman or any of his Bloodline cousins by his side. Punk suggested that Reigns has always been chasing him, just like in the past.

Then the segment took a very serious turn.

“You went from getting beat at WrestleMania, now I’m going to bury you…And then you won’t be all alone anymore…because I’m going to bury you next to your father,” Punk said.

The mention of Sika Anoa’iwas quite shocking. WWE often mixes real-life issues into storylines, but bringing up Reigns’ late father made things feel very uncomfortable.

The WrestleMania 42 main event is now about more than just the title. This rivalry has just become deeply personal.
